I bought a cheap $600 hard tri-fold bed cover from Amazon. Looks great but…
It leaks.
It doesn’t fold all the way to the rear window.
The gaskets along the sides of the panels stick to the side rails and are ripping apart.

I should have bought a BAK-Flip MX 4 like in my previous truck. None of the above issues.

Any steel exterior mods. It was fine before i moved. But now i live in the rust belt everything got destroyed the first winter i was here. Even after spending time removing all of the rust, spraying rustoleum rust reformer and paint. Everything got covered in rust 2 days later the first time it rained in spring.

I had to think long and hard about this one because it's easy to confuse a "bad" mod with one I have simply outgrown or one which was rendered ineffective because my use case changed.

However, I guess I would throw my bedslide into the "Mod I Wish I'd Never Done" category:

I really thought that this was going to be the right solution to allowing me to use the WHOLE bed AND promote easy access to the stuff in the front of the bed even with the canopy and its cupboards:

It was heavy and left lots of dead unusable space. it is now collecting dust in the garage and I should prolly try to sell it to recoup some of the cost I am out.
PM me! VERY interested in this!

I'd like to know some of the specs and installation procedure for the bedslide. Did you have to drill or use existing holes/hardware points?

Less of a mod and more of an accessory…I wouldn’t buy a ROAM case at their asking price again. Maybe someone can convince me otherwise, but IMO it’s far too overpriced for what it is. Plus the accessories for it are even more outrageously priced - $220 for a rack mount and $150+ for a lid organizer or Molle panel! At this point I’m unwilling to purchase their mount/accessories and need to figure out an alternative/cheaper option to mount the case. The amount of additional cargo space (or lack thereof) is just not justified by the huge price tag.

Probably metal fenders. I ended up traded them out. They make sense for slow speed rock crawlers, but I didn't see a need for them personally.

I've got my truck pretty much where I want it for my required mods, lift/shocks/disco sway bars, winch, tires, compressor, recovery gear etc... It'll do as my name suggests, average overloading. Rock sliders and skid plates would still be on my wish list, but haven't been a necessity so far.

There's unlimited amounts of mods we can make and enjoy according to our different needs... but my question is, what are mods that you thought would be great that you'd be hesitant to do again?
What is overloading?
