Yea the 3.0 inline isn't likely until the remodel. I don't think it would be beneficial to do crash tests with a new engine in 2028, then remodel and do crash tests again. I'm all for it and would much prefer the inline over my eco diesel. Of course a powertrain similar to the Ramcharger would also be sweet.. over 600 miles of range and great power and torque. I like my gladiator as it is, but there is room for improvements. I'll likely trade it in for something else next year and wait until the remodel to get back in one again.
If the JT is canceled in 2028 I'm sure there will be a Ram Dakota/ Jeep variant to come to market, but maybe in 2030 or a little later depending on the market. Personally if they just modeled that new Recon into a truck as well, I'd be interested as long as it had all the same removable panels. Of course that would also mean IFS. I'm not a rock crawler, I just like to fling mud and go up steep hills with all my cargo still intact.
