Its because the doors are removable that the auto up function is not available. It requires the no pinch parts which add complexity and worse weight. It was also never a feature on the jk and jl for the same reasons.

The doors being removable is actually to root cause so go ahead and chuckle.

I'll be chuckling about the grammar memes being on point.

If you think you can solve the problem i invite you to see what 12v stepper motors would do to the already inflated price. They would solve the prolem of auto up and auto down BUT would require teaching the doors everytime you put them back on. Pick you battles.

Your explanation makes sense. What’s your source? Just doing a quick search mostly gives the cost factor as the reason they don’t do it.

Your memes and grammar trolling clouded your point. You see any grammar or spelling issues with your last post? Everyone here knows basic grammar. It’s a casual forum and most are using their smartphones. If you understand the message, keep your asshat comments to yourself.

so you would have auto up and manual down?
Yeah, exactly. I would prefer it that way. Like some of the other have said, sometimes you just want to roll the window down part of the way and while that is possible the way it is now it's hard to stop it right where you want it. Going up is usually all the way up.

It may not work but it wouldn't be hard to test once the door switch was out.

I'm going to chalk it up to common sense.

'98 Saab 9000, auto up and auto down all 4, 1 touch sunroof open or close. feed back pinch protection on all 5.
'04 VW Jetta, same
'13 VW Jetta, same
'07 Infiniti G35, same
'13 MB GLK, same

These systems are not rare or fancy and have been in wide spread use since the 90's.

Jeep as a brand is very cost conscious as they are the cash cow for FCA in the US. Wrangler doors are designed to be removable, jeep is cheap. This means minimum investment to achieve goal. Auto up is out. Why no auto down on the rear is probably due to cutting costs, all wranglers have front doors but not all jeeps have rear doors. It's an all around giant sack of hot steaming reasons why not.

Makes sense. Wasn’t sure if FCA actually addressed the question over the years or you were just surmising. First Jeep here, so I don’t have anything to compare it to except other SUV’s and trucks I’ve owned over the years.

Yeah Jeep pretty much doesn't care, we should count ourselves lucky we have power windows and locks. Life was so much simpler with a CJ7/8.

I don’t know if any auto maker has that window auto up feature I think it’s because of trapping kids or anything else in the window when the window is going up and not having the window auto up feature prevents that from happening
I was under the impression that trapping kids and pets was an issue when the switches were on the arm rest and kids and pets would step on the switch with their head out the window. Hard to do with the switch on the dash.

How about a little brother or sister playing with the dash window switches and accidentally strangling their pet or sibling?

My 2017 Mustang GT had auto-up and auto-down windows.
