Would you recommend a tow strap or a snatch for recovery; and thoughts on hitch step?

I have a winch but ALWAYS keep a recovery strap under the back seat. I've always heard good things about Rhino. Those Smittybuilt should do the job. Especially if you don't use them a lot. I have mine as a "just in case" and haven't used it but maybe once.

Either of those straps will work.

Key thing with a tow strap being used for recovery is to make sure it is a recovery strap. Which the one you linked is. There are tow straps that are not recovery straps and they are not elastic. They usually have hooks on both ends. You definitely do not want one of these for recovery.

How's the quality of Rhino stuff?? I see advertising for them all the time.
It pulled me off of being high centered in a forest with no one around but myself to help. I would say I'm pleased with the quality. Now if it broke. Then I would be not so pleased.

I’m looking to use a $200 expiring credit for some off road accessories that I can use with my gladiator and I was thinking about snagging a tow or snatch strap and a hitch step / guard. Which would you recommend or warn against:

https://www.americantrucks.com/smittybilt-3x30-ft-recovery-tow-strap-30000-lb-2.html

As a compromise between stretch and tow, I like the ARB 4x4 Accessories ARB705LB Recovery Snatch Strap Orange 30' x 2 3/8", Load capacity 17,600 lb, NATA approved, 20% Stretch... You can snatch somebody out with the 20% stretch, and you can still tow somebody out of the hills with it -- it does not stretch very easily. It is also flat and rolls up small, and fits perfectly behind the Drivers side back seat. You can find it on Amazon.

For the rear hitch skid, I have the original Skidmark hitch cover. It is extremely well built. https://www.skidmark4x4.com/

Even though I have a winch on my Mojave, I always have this available just in case.
