The mojave is def very popular. Thats what i wanted and went to purchase. The only reason i ended up with a Rubi is because they cut me a deeper discount than the Mojave offered and the Mojave they had was a demo with 3k miles vs my Rubi was brand new.

I love mine. A ford rear ended it a week ago and thankfully i was able to destroy its headlight with my tow hook without a scratch for me.

I like both but ended up going with the Rubicon. I don't do a lot of rock crawling and most would consider what I do to be very moderate. I don't jump dunes either so I based my decision on "what would get me out of mud/snow the best if I ever got stuck". I guess you can add it later but lockers on both the front and back made a difference for me.

Ended up deciding the Rubicon was going to be more beneficial to me than the Mojave. Not necessarily for rock crawling but more for getting out of bad situations. If I lived out west and was near sand dunes, I would probably go with the Mojave.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one though. Both can be modified to add whatever they are missing.

You can switch to the rubicon front bumper steel front bumper. I've seen them all over FB marketplace.

As others have noted, in FL I've also seen more Mojave's than Rubicon's. I also went with Mojave over Rubicon because I felt that I wouldn't be lifting or putting larger tires on, and most of my offroad would be normal trails - not rocks.
The one thing I wish I could have gotten from the factory was the steel front bumper. It sounds dumb, but it almost made me want a Rubicon over Mojave. Another thing, I kind of like the stock Rubicon wheels and hood over the Mojave (though not that much more). But I like the accent colors and interior cloth of the Mojave over Rubicon, as well as the suspension. I'm still glad I went with the Mojave over Rubicon - though I would still love that factory steel bumper.....

Yes, but I know there is a reason Jeep isn’t offering it with a warranty. Maybe years down the road I’ll swap

Thanks to all that posted, I see Alans17 that you live in the DFW area, I do to. I was walking the AutoNation dealership in NRH yesterday and they had 40 plus Gladiators on their lot for sale, most were Rubicon's, Mojave's, Overland's, and Willys, not many Sport S that I could see. I was really susprized to see that many, I did come home and checked their website and found just about all had big discount, 5-7000 dollars range. Being retired I think I will go back tomorrow and see what is really going on over there, is it BS, or pretty much on the level. I pretty much assume with 40 plus in stock I would think they just might want to get rid on one, or two.
I bought my current Mojave from them a year ago in Dec. They will have close to $2k in dealer adds, but the deal was so good that it was still cheaper than anyone else was offering. They did try to tell me I had to finance through them. I called BS and they didn't mention it again. Overall a decent experience for a car dealer.

I'm in the order process for a Mojave. I think the suspension is going to be more ideal for my needs, a daily driver, yet ready to handle everything I throw at it on the beaches.

I already have a Rubicon JL and the suspension is a tad rough for a daily....for me
Sounds PERFECT for you. I had a great JL. 2.5" synergy lift, fox shocks, perfectly aligned. A bit stiff as a DD. Once I got honest about how much I wheel and where, something more awesome for the beach was what I needed and the Mohave is perfect. I was definately running fast on the beaches in North OBX and most fire roads and beat up unimproveds you can fly on!

I just came back up to Corova and 5 of the 7 miles was in the surf or muck.......the ocean is angry today. Only the last 2 miles I was back on dry sand

I have a Willy’s Diesel…if only they had a Mojave Diesel… ? ?
Doubt this will happen. And now I hope it doesn't. One of the reasons I'm trading my Mojave is for the diesel. If they do, my gf will probably literally kill me because I might trade again.

I would say I see far more sports in person than any other trim (counting sport, sport s, willys, willys sport, altitude, freedom, 80ths, and i would count texas trial here as well but i'll probably never see one in NJ). Then Mojaves come next, then rubicons. Overlands are the rarest which is odd considering how common Saharas are.

I have zero interest in rock crawling, or any type of off-roading likely to cause damage. I don't need any of the mojave specific bits at all, but i did want 4.10s and a manual transmission so my only choices were rubicon and mojave. the idea of a trim unique to the model that specializes in the type of things a long wheelbase off-roader would be better at intrigued me more than pretending a Rubicon gladiator handles rubicon stuff as well as a Rubicon JL. Plus i like the hood better, and i think orange accents go better with gobi than red accents.
If 90% I would think change the rims, how can you tell if it's an overland model?

My Mojave is the only one around here. I am in a rural area though. Not many JT's on the road until you head toward the big city.

At least you’re not married ?? it’d be a more painful death.

But the diesel is worth the sacrifice of not having the Mojave suspension. But damn if only.
