Tightened a loose bolt.

While out and about last night I heard a strange noise from the front end, repeatable with rapid steering changes when at a stop (parking lot). Steering had felt loose for a few days, actually. Went around the front end bolts, worried about that ball joint thing ... and found the axle-side bolt of my track bar wasn't even finger tight!

That's on me, I had never re-checked the torque after 100 and 500 miles of installing the new track bar ... sigh.

Installed a winch and wired in the contactor and fuse holdaer. 1/2 inch carriage bolts works great for the fairlead with the Warn plate.

What brand of grill guard is this? Remind me not to get it. They tack welded it all the way around.

Welder myself. Was scratching my head when I seen the picture. They button welded it. Guess they didn't want to turn down the wire speed and volts.

People Work?
Installed a Fox through shaft stabilizer, had to work on the top two holes in the mounting bracket, which was a bummer. I had read some reviews where other folks were having trouble with hole alignment and my case was no different. Think the engineers at Fox need to loosen up on their tolerances and test fitting their parts to keep quality control in check would be a good idea too. Regardless, armed with an old Bridgeport, short work opening those holes and the rest of install was a snap.

Got some some new rims too, but it will be some time next week for those.

8.5" +6?
What size tires are you going to run on them? I'm eager to see how they fit. They shouldn't poke at all with 12.5.

#1 is exactly how I'd like it if making choices like that.........

I noticed that the DRLs on my 2022 (LED) operated differently from what's described in the 2020 manual.

2022->

My original 2020 manual said "automatic transmission in any gear other than park" or something like that, then December 2020 version of the 2020 manual it reads like the 2022 manual.
I recall checking the lights when I got the plow all hooked up and it deviated from the original owner manual.

I had wondered about smoked - when I had my last WJ I was looking into replacing all of the front lights due to age and clouding, etc.
Wonder how smoked would look with the blue, though. Better than the amber I suspect.

After loading up the plow the first couple of times just to test things out, make sure everything fit in the garage and all, I noted that I had to REALLY feather the throttle getting up the gravel hill from my shop to the neighbor's driveway (also gravel - and he's PICKY) to get to my garage - otherwise the rear tires just spun gravel. No way I was even going to try it with no weight in the rear.
I think the weight in the rear is one reason mine handled so very well on the road today in all the driving we did shopping and running errands. It handled great. (mentioned in other thread "what did you do WITH........")

I don't know about the deflector part yet. It's an option (not a cheap one) from Western. We'll see- maybe as soon as tomorrow night or Thursday night.
EDIT - WOW, just priced these things - $300+ depending on where you look for a strip of rubber and metal retainers. Wonder about buying some in bulk and drilling my own holes.

I have their fog lights in this truck - actually had them in my other and transferred them to this one - and they are solidly built, work nice.

LOL - you guys are convincing me now I have to go out when it gets above 0 and see how much work is involved in replacing them.
Here ya go @ShadowsPapa . Hope this short video will play. Having some tech issues.

Tires will be Kenda Klever AT, 315-70-17, those Walmart specials from a while back. I've been running them on the stock rims but it's time to upgrade to something wider with 5" or better back spacing, in the hopes of keeping everything in the wheel well as possible. Out of all the possibilities I found, these Tactik rims from Quadratec satisfied both my eyes and wallet.

I'm itching to get them installed too, the wider rim should allow the tread to flatten out and I can bump my air pressure up for better fuel mileage and drivability.
