Had some guys "admiring" my jeep a bit too closely when I came out from the barber (they ran when I yelled from a distance... one hood latch was undone when I got there) ... Went home and moved one of my "someday" projects to the top of the list ... Installed the lasfit stealth automatic hood lock ... won't stop the determined but will slow them down

https://www.lasfit.com/products/las...k-for-18-22-jeep-wrangler-jl-and-gladiator-jt

Super easy install for what it is (just under 2 hours) ... granted locking latches are quicker to install

For the unfamiliar, this locks and unlocks the hood using the data bus signal on your gladiator (i.e. it locks and unlocks with your doors if you have electric locks) There is also a mechanical backup (pull cable) and and electric backup button.

After a year of debating and research, new wheels and tires today. Nitto Ridge Grapplers 35" and Black Rhino Abrams Gun Metal. Couldn't be happier. Next. going to do a 1.5" level on front.

I have one in the Mojave. My MPG went up 3% and it cured my death wobble.
Cat got pregnant too, but I'm not sure that's the cause.
Naw, we ALL know what caused that............. think a bit, you'll remember it.

“I wanted to press him about the Aux switches purpose that can be ordered on the JT and connect electrical devices to them and the battery system”

I would love to know the logic when you get an answer!
update: got my JT back today and the main battery was toast, once the new one was put in and tested and all codes cleared by the G8 machine (?) it was test driven for ESS proper function. i then was given the information that my new primary battery comes with a 2 years warranty. I was also told to not disable the ESS system that it would now function as designed. I was also informed the $347.59 charges for labor, battery and diagnostics was 8 days past my 3 year or 36k miles warranty. I was told they sent the bill to their sister dealership that I purchased it from and it was paid in full. Was also told if the AUX battery goes bad they would cut me a break to replace it. With truck paid for and keys in hand, I asked about the AUX switches and adding some lighting and additional electronic…he never gave me a straight answer and when I pressed again about connecting my winch, he told me to connected to my extra battery in the bed. He turned his back to me and walked away. Transparency was not on the menu.

Careful with SS it likes to gaul up especially if you go in dry and use power tools.
I went in wet and by hand. Torqued to 100 ft/lbs. I work with a lot of non ferrous and SS hardware in my day job.

Finally bit the bullet and purchased the Oracle Oculus BI-LED headlights. I couldn't take the awful oem halogen lights. They are the perfect brightness. I was just going to get an amazon set but I really didn't care for the designs.
Also, I wanted to be different and get away from the black so I got the satin silver to match my paint color. So far so good, thanks @Northridge4x4 and @ORACLElights.

Just a side note, I finally purchased a JSCAN and the cables and reprogrammed the BCM to read LED headlights right away so I can't comment on using LEDs with the truck programmed to halogens.

Refer to my previous post:

Now, here's the deal. When either of those batteries die, just go buy the replacement battery from one of the chain parts stores and never talk to the dealer about your battery ever again.

There is an Autozone less than two blocks from my house and every replacement battery I've bought in the last 13 years for a vehicle (other than the ones in the aforementioned post) have been bought at that Autozone. They put a 3 year warranty on the battery and all I've ever done to get a replacement is walk in the old one, tell them it is dead, they look me up in the computer, verify the purchase date, and bring me a new battery. They don't care about your winch being hooked up to it. The only "catch" to their battery replacement policy is that you can't get a warranty replacement on the warranty replacement. So theoretically, you are buying a battery every 6 years...

I don't now about the policy at Napa, O'Reilly, et al but since they are competitors, I'm sure it is similar.

BTW: I notice you're in Boise....I miss Idaho

My autozone requires that they test it, which takes about 30 minutes. The machine will actually kick up a 'replace' error message. After that, they'll trade to bad battery for a new one.
They also offer a veteran discount.

Well...it IS California. LOL

Each store may manage it a bit differently but to your point, if the battery has failed, then it will get replaced. How many times have they asked if you have a winch hooked to it?!?!?

p.s. Not hating on Cali...Napa HS Class of '83!!
