So why 8oz bottles and not like 2oz?

I like your idea, but these 2oz seem better, 1.00 ea

Those are cool 2oz bottles! Here's the friction point. I'd much rather add only a couple of ozs of the additive... However, what's up with this??

Same brand, different intended use than the every day treatment (EDT) many of us use.

Thanks for the 411!

Side note: And, I'm not sure of the validity of this information -- I went to the Jeep dealership service department in my community this week and the Service Manager said that Jeep does not recommend putting additives in the tank of a vehicle that's still under warranty as it may void the warranty. It seemed odd to me but that's what they are saying. Feedback on this?

The SM is playing it safe and poorly paraphrasing the wording of the owners manual.

page 389
" . If you buy good quality fuel and follow the cold weather advice above, fuel conditioners should not be required in your vehicle. "

"Commercially available fuel additives are not necessary for the proper operation of your diesel engine. "

it doesn't say anything about warranty.

The use of "Should" is a suggestion not a requirement from a legal wording perspective.

It just says additives are not necessary. Which is different legally then saying don't use XYZ or must or shall use XYZ.

I got the recall notice today and the bit about no fix available is a nice touch.

The failures I’ve seen on the CP4.2 are due to improper fuel filter changes and not priming / purging the fuel system.

no military, but have read a contract or 2 in my day.

It's a shame they don't teach these kind of nuances in school and you find out about them through the school of hard knocks.....
