Those boring, entry level Gladiators sell pretty well - a lot of people want a simple, basic Jeep truck they can modify to their own liking with the lifts they prefer - not what FCA forces on them.Jeep could simply add the 2.5" lift/suspension to every Rubicon, add the 35"/37" option as well and put the trail cam on there as well, They will never have any sitting on a lot very long. Look the new Bison Colorado, ventilated seats, cameras everywhere, big tires big suspension. The solution is easy, dump the entry level boring Gladiators.
Doing as you suggest would quickly kill a whole lot of sales.
Do a check on the number of Sports here with no fancy options at all.
A whole lot of members like manual windows, no power locks, a basic Jeep - they'll build it how they want.
Jeeps are like Legos - people like to build their own, not buy what is forced on them by someone at FCA.
Over 90% of JL and JLU owners have kids in the home.
About 30% of JL/JLU buyers are women.
Around here few Jeeps are modified much, lifts aren't common.
