I currently have a Radiodiddy gmrs radio that I'm about to install. I want an overhead molle panel but can't source one that is solid (no cut outs for a hard top) for a reasonable price. So now I'm searching how others have installed their radios. Post your pics, thoughts on location etc.

This is how I did mine. The overhead panel comes in a solid piece too that is for soft tops.

You can see my midland GMRS radio mounted on top. There's a Uniden BearCat CB on the passenger side

I mounted my FT-857D for use on a few bands. I can receive Ham radio frequencies, FRS/GMRS frequencies, and CB radio frequencies. The antennas are hooked up to the radio for multiple bands. The radio is under the back seat, speaker under the front seat, and microphone on the dash.

I run a Yaesu FTM200 in my JTR. It does ham, it may or may not do GMRS and Rockingham County Fire dispatch.

Base unit mounted under the passengers seat, remote head mounted by the shifter and a small external amplified speaker on the dash. I run a diamond 770 antenna in the back on a bracket mounted to the bed.

Midland 275 hidden away under the dash behind the panel above the steering wheel. Microphone/display is on a mount just to the right of the steering wheel. No separate head unit, it's all in the microphone. Uses hardly any space. And I wish more manufacturers did this, as I'd like a more sophisticated model with custom channels.

The other things mounted on the dash rail system are a Garmin GPS when needed, and a sat-comm when needed. My truck has a 7" display so no built-in nav, but that's ok because the Garmin unit has better nav and databases.
