Guys, it's okay to gets oil on your hand once a while 😂
I am assuming you are posting this because you haven’t installed an engine/trans skid plate…..
diesel oil on your hands sucks….
And for two with a skid it goes Everywhere, since it runs down the skid, to the cross member and creates a nice wide- 18” oil waterfall feature 😎
This swap of a drain plug to allow a hose that drains straight into a bucket = zero mess. 🍺

Valid point. No skid plate here yet. I've been picking another lines whenever my axle makes contact.

That oil running everywhere. That's rust prevention, and weed killer.

Will be running skids so I'll need to go with the valve then once I get to that point.

Here's the most recent oil analysis (2020 Ram 1500). This sample had a lot of towing miles on it. I've used Hot Shot's Secret FR3 additive on the last two intervals. Since I can't see any clear benefit from running FR3, I will discontinue using it.

Hahaha. Basic common senses are enough to gets ahead in California as many here are out of their minds and unable to think for themselves.

Thanks for testing and the data. Agreed it looks like a waste of money. Do you know if anyone has ran their black diamond oil through uoa?

You're welcome. 👍

After two oil change intervals, I see no benefit. But yes, that's one less thing (and cost) that I need to worry about.

There's been a few who are running the Black Diamond oil in the 2nd gen engine. I'll see if I can find anyone running it in the 3rd gen engine.

Recommendation: Do NOT rely solely on this list. Always double check to make sure the following oils are current in meeting factory specifications.

The new 3rd gen (2020+) EcoDiesel has different specs than the 2nd generation (2014 - 2019) engine. The following oils have been known to meet the new MS-12991 and API SN Certification/Standard/Approval. I put them in order based on what I think are more 'commonly known', not based on preference or performance.

Mopar 68524020AA 5W-40 replaces 68231020AA
Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40
Valvoline European Vehicle 5W-40
Quaker State Ultimate Durability EURO 5W-40
Havoline ProDS 5W-40
Castrol Edge Euro Car - 5W-40
FRAM Full Synthetic Euro 5W-40
Amsoil 5W-40 FS Synthetic European (EFM)
Redline Full Synthetic 5W-40
Motul 8100 C-clean 5W-40
Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40
Motul 8100 X-cess gen2 5W-40
Liqui Moly Leichtlauf High Tech 5W-40
TRIAX Euro LX 5W-40
TRIAX Euro Ultra VX 5W-40
Ravenol VST 5W-40
Total Quartz 9000 5W-40
ELF Evolution 900 SXR 5W-40
ELF Evolution 900 FT 5W-40
AMALIE Elixir Full Synthetic Euro 5W-40
Millers Oil Trident Fully Synthetic 5W-40
Millers Oils XF LONGLIFE 5W-40
MPT Thirty-K True Synthetic High Performance 5W-40
CAM2 Blue Blood Elite Euro 5W-40
FUCHS TITAN Supersyn SAE 5W-40
Lubrication Engineers 5w40 Monolec Ultra Syn Heavy Duty Engine Oil
REPSOL ELITE COSMOS HIGH PERFORMANCE 5W-40
what do you think about Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5W-40 Full Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oil ?
It seems to cover everything , including sulphated ash level. I bet that the SAP level is lower than the amount in Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40 (who hides the SAPS levels from the general public). I've always been a fan of Mobil 1 full synthetic and I think it might be a better oil than the Pennzoil but I haven't tried it yet. The local walmart here has it for $26 per gallon. What do you think? Also, any reasons NOT to use it?

Mobile Delvac is a good oil, it just doesn't meet the Chrysler MS-12991 specification. You can always give it a try, pull a sample, and post your UOA results.
