The numbers won't be way off. Blackstone isn't a certified lab, and they lack some testing equipment, but the wear numbers will be fairly close.
If I recall William had them off by 20% or more in some case. Significant to say the least.

On what kind of scale? 10ppm vs. 12ppm would be a 20% difference but still a insignificant increase due to the small scale of measurement.

I've seen virgin samples go to both Blackstone and a certified lab. At most, there might be a 1 - 2 ppm difference. That's not as significant as you might think.

Don't know. Just remember on his FB group he posted about it a while ago.

I remember it's not consistence. Sometimes more sometimes less.

My biggest issue with Blackstone is their inability to test for fuel dilution and oxidation. You also have to pay an additional $10 dollars to get the TBN, which comes standard with Polaris Labs/Oil Analyzers/Cummins/CAT, etc. Blackstone is good, but they are not great. They don't provide a complete UOA report. But I'd rather see someone testing with Blackstone to learn the process than do no testing at all.

According to the labs, most engine failures are related to the cooling system. Engines fail due to neglect and/or component failure, not so much from the oil itself. Sometimes, we can prevent catastrophic engine failures by seeing issues in an oil report (fuel dilution, head gasket leaks, high wear metals, etc.).

@GladiatorPilot23 I know this is a 41 page post and impossible to read in a minute, but I've taken all my samples to both labs. For Science! I've just recently mailed off my most recent samples to both and will have them again for side-by-side comparison here again shortly. I'm past 30k miles, so this is oil change number 4. Been running 7500 mi intervals.

I’ve wanted to do this with mine as well. I use a lab in Calgary but then compare it with the results I see folks in the US using Blackstone are getting and the only number that’s way off on mine is IRON. My lab commented on this to say ‘if comparing numbers with two labs, the instrumentation will be different so it won’t be comparing apples to apples, the numbers will read different.’

Here's my uoa from (Blackstone) . This is the first report on the new gde flash for dilution. I switched to stp euro after this and will probably go to m1 tdt after. The stp was on sale with their filter package.

GDE now has a new flash for Dilution modifying Y 81 and the 3rd pilot in the fuel table so as not to have excessive aluminum piston skirt wear?? if it’s true that’s awesome because he is superior to MR in tuning.

Wow, that oil did thin out pretty good. Unfortunately, this is a Blackstone non ISO lap so we don’t know for sure what the real readings are on this report.

Was the listed Quaker State oil used on both of the last two oil service intervals? What was the oil used on the first one (7880 mile)?

Couldn't tell you what tables were modified, only that it was created to address the fuel dilution issue. And based on the report it appears to have worked.

The second and third are statistically within the margin of error so they are identical essentially? What do you see on the number two in terms of fuel dilution as compared to number three?
