Cracked top on brand new 2024 Gladiator Nighthawk

I purchased a Nighthawk on 8/1/24. Yesterday, I folded the rear seat down for the first time and noticed this crack on the hardtop. To me, it looks like it was done at the factory when it was installed. I have filed a case with Mopar.

I purchased a Nighthawk on 8/1/24 from a dealer in Vero Beach, FL. Yesterday, I folded the rear seat down for the first time and noticed this crack on the hardtop. To me, it looks like it was done at the factory when it was installed. I have filed a case with Mopar. Needless to say, this does not give me confidence in the dealership that should have caught it.

Your dealer should take care of this pretty easily without any escalation needed.

Yeah not a biggie, warranty item. I took delivery of my truck with the rag roof damaged. A tall sales guy passing by noticed tiny small scuff on the very top of the roof. Got all replaced within a day.

I understand your pissed and I would be too, but this really is what warranties are for so I’m sure you will not have any issues getting it completely replaced.

Of course, if that is not the case, scorch the earth with which they stand until they do the right thing.

fiberglass has a mind of its own.
maybe it should have been caught already but it could have also happened the first time you hit a speed bump or pot hole

I've hit many in my day without cracking the fiberglass hardtop.

I've owned 100 other vehicles and none of them had a cracked fiberglass roof (hard to do when none of them have a fiberglass roof). We get it's frustrating, but shit happens. I don't think dealers are folding down seats and bolt checking the entire vehicle so I'm not sure if agree "they should have caught this".

Is there a published torque spec for those hard top bolts? This seems like it would be easy to do when re-installing the top after removal.

That little crack will be the least of your worries once the rear glass starts leaking.
