DPF Erroneously Showing 100% ??

Hi everyone,
New EcoDiesel owner here. I plugged in an OBD2 reader two monitor regens as I wanted to make sure I was giving it enough highway time.

DPF just read 100% for the first week. This included a four hour each way highway trip where passive regen was on most of the time. That was when I knew the reading must’ve been erroneous because it didn’t budge at all during that time.

Anyway, upgraded to a BlueDriver Pro and it just read 100% as well. Pulled it after a few days and put the Veepeak OBD Check LE+ back in and it started reporting DPF%.. went between 50 and 70% over about four days of driving. Thought I had it lcked, but it then went back to static display of 100%.

Any thoughts? I have tried unplugging the battery for 30 minutes, no change.

Ive had mine read 100% while towing cross country in the mountains despite hard climbs and a regen, but finally returned to a low level eventually.

I just had the dpf replaced under warranty at 53k and it's currently reading 100%. I've been reading monitors since I have an upcoming smog and wondering how long this will take.

Is it normal for to actually sit at 100% for four or five days of highway driving? And then maybe I missed an active regen that dropped it to 50% ?

I don't know if it normal, but I have observed 100% for over 1000 miles towing before........Then it would drop to like 10% eventually. I really thought wot for 10-15 miles climbing a grade would burn some off?

Mine never pass 80%. It's like clockwork, active regen starts at 80% and stops at 8%. Maybe the software isn't reading it properly. Monitoring mine via a Scangauge 2.

I have heard the Scanguage 2 are more accurate, maybe this is what they meant?

So are we thinking this is normal and nothing needs to be fixed?

Same here. I have a Banks idash gauge.

I've had the same problem for months using a Bluetooth reader and OBDFusion. It's a toss up on getting accurate percentages. Moving to a Banks iDash and hoping it's better.

Man.. so it sounds like we need to spring for the expensive products to solve this.

Are there any wired old school readers that can accurately report DPF? I see a bunch on Amazon for under $50.. anyone have any positive experiences of these cheap readers working well?

I would recommend getting a Scangauge or similar device.

Probably the cheap OBD2 giving bad readings. I have an iDash and it was always between 8% and 80%.

I’ve had the obd apps show the same. My idash would show up to 80ish for a while but at the next start up would usually have gone down.

I gave the Banks iDash and when I first set up the gauge set, I was reading 100% too. However that was the wrong selection to monitor. When your engine is working it’s at 100% in that one measurement. I found the correct one to monitor after done fiddling around and even set up the alert to notify of regen starting and stopping. Perhaps you all are on the wrong setting too?
DPF SL % (Soot Level, Not DPF Soot Load %) is the correct setting and if I recall there’s a couple selections that aren’t clearly distinguished. And my DPF Distance is low cause I’ve got a fucked sensor and waiting on parts!
