This more or less (I doubt the fuel mileage would ever be quite as good), but more importantly, the 3.6L (although a great little engine IMO) is pushing it's limits. It's stressed pretty close to it's maximum limitations and that's why when you add another 500-800 lbs of gear & supplies in the back, you're seriously shortening it's lifespan. Can it do it? Yes. Will it last as long as the 5.7 which IMO, isn't nearly as close to it's limits even if it *is* producing another ~100 hp & 100 lb/ft of torque? I suspect not. I'd much rather have a more powerful, less stressed, engine. When it comes to the weight and the 3.6 vs the 5.7. I start to think about mileage for 3.6 with an additional 1000lbs pounds of kit out, food, water, gear versus the strain on the 5.7. I'd rather have 5.7 with all the extra weight even with the extra 160lbs. Overall it seem the 5.7 would handle it all better and thus be more reliable over time and maybe even have better gas mileage overall when full kitted and deflated.
