Hi Steve. Off subject, my kids name all snakes Steve. Because my wife had a good idea. Just saying. I met you in rattle mode two days ago. Ok. Let me take my anti psychotic. I’m good now.

I never did a full build thread. I just have used the what did you do to thread. But I’m happy to talk about the whole thing. It’s been an evolution, learning experience, some devolving, and then better evolution. I’m super happy with how it is now. Super happy. It’s a jackknife.
I appreciate that Hobo.
Would you believe I have even used GROK to help me in my research(I usually get good answers from Grok via multiple "additonal" inputs from me to fine tune) but a large part of his research reference "JeepGladiatorforum" threads. How about that?...

Because this is the definitive version of anything Gladiator. We have Master mechanics , Total all in Off -Roaders like Hobo and guys who are willing to roll up their shirt sleeves and get dirty 😂 hardly a part on these that someone hasn't dealt with.

I'd trust that wild hobo guy to do my suspension. Amazing results and his jeep are proof of the thought processes and abilities.

I know you have an aversion to air bags, but they do offer a lot of versatility. Tunable pressure to load is the primary. I run a roof top tent and rack with supplies nearly year around and have found my sweet spot for pressure setting. Occasionally pull a trailer with large mower or small tractor and I can adjust the pressure accordingly. I chose a reputable air bag manufacturer and have had zero issues over 20K miles so far. The timbren/sumo spring offerings to me are a glorified bump stop. Semi's run air bags millions of miles because they work. You could also get in touch with Dobinson Suspensions and see what they offer in a heavier rate spring. They are a very reputable brand .
I've been using airlift airbags on this Jeep for over 4yrs and about 130k miles. They've been working out great. I had the Ram 1500 HD springs because of my lift. The HD springs (black) are a little stiffer than the regular (red) ones. However I did just recently switch over to airlift airsprings. No particular reason. Just to try something new. Lol

Sorry I’m late to the party…

Im running a full overland rig on my JTR with 35” tires. After a lot of research I ended up getting the full AEV kit with the 400# additional springs and love that it actually handles better than stock. They also make an even heavier spring set if you think that’s what you need. Just another point the kit corrects all the geometry Issues needed when a lift is installed right down to the carrier bearing spacer. Well worth the coin.

I highly recommend taking your Gladiator to a CAT scale and getting an accurate weight. You’d be surprised how quickly these trucks creep over GVWR.

Once you have the total weight, calculate your sprung weight by subtracting the weight of the wheels/tires and axle assemblies. That number is incredibly helpful when calling around to determine which springs will actually work for your setup.

If you’re chasing a smooth ride, be prepared to have your shocks custom tuned for your specific weight and spring rate. No off-the-shelf shock is going to deliver optimal ride quality on a heavily modified Gladiator. Unless you buy a package from AEV, they custom valve their shocks for their springs.

Also worth looking into: Dobinsons. Their triple-adjustable shocks let you fine-tune high-speed compression, low-speed compression, and rebound to dial in the ride exactly how you want it.

Mines a Rubicon Diesel. 5" Synergy gas springs in the front 3.5" HD Claytons in the rear. Did a custom mounted anti rock in the rear. On 38's. This is carrying approx 1000 lbs in the rear on a CAT scale. Front was 30 lbs lighter than stock. Sets with a 1* slope to the front with a full tank. . Rides fantastic with ADS 3 tube bypasses setup by Liberty Mountain Fab.

Are you running the standard 2.5 Dual Sport kit with black springs?
