If 37’s + 3.73’s is the sweet spot, then a JT with 33/35’s would need something like 3.55’s (or less)

I saw their video it sounds awesome but $30K is a no go.

Or like the non-rubicon JLs 3.45s for the 32" tires which works out to about 3.55s with 33s? With an extra 100-200ftlbs I'm pretty sure you don't need near the sane gearing to do the same work either.

Love this build! DRC milks a lot of their videos but it's a great source of information.

It’s a different transmission, not the stock 8 speed. They have a video showing the entire process at AMW and it’s quite impressive IMO. The goal is to build it in a way that it looks completely factory as possible. They sweat the details and it shows. You also get credit for your engine and transmission, the amount depends on the age and miles.. so it’s under $31k actually. If I had the money I’d do it.

I think the weak link Is the 6. I liked the video and the idea better than the factory 392. Some people would be unhappy if you hung them with a new rope.

To be fair, I’d be unhappy being hung with a new or old rope.

Man that v8 sounds so sweet and I bet it has all the power needed on a mid size truck. I would have picked one up if that was an option when I got my JTRD in 2023.

Watching all the videos and complaints on the 3.6 failures and lack of power, I am soooo glad I went with the ecodiesel and deleted it. It is peppy to drive around town and will light up the tires easily taking off from a dead stop or drifting turn. I believe it has close to 500 ft lbs of torque at the wheels on the highest tune 😳 .

19 - 24 mpg on 37s is just an added bonus.

The $30k is steep unless you wait until your engine and or trans are high in the miles. At that point, brand new v8 and trans plus all the accessories, installed, with a 2 year 24k mile warranty is far cheaper than a new truck. Especially if you've done a lot of mods. My suspension set up the way I want, lift, tires, shocks, etc. is all savings vs buying a new one... that still has a mediocre v6.

Mine only has 8k on it now, but I am told they give more in trade for very low mileage engines.

I hear what you are saying though, mine is setup perfect with 60's and all the supporting mods. Mine is a V8 away from being perfect.

Honestly this is the exact same attitude I have about it, my truck is already set up how I want it minus the engine/ power. If they never give a JT with a Hemi from factory I am just going to go this route, $30k is cheaper than a new truck. I only have 47k miles on mine currently, maybe once I need a new engine the swap will be even cheaper.

Too many problems with that diesel to consider a swap. It would probably be ok if I lived somewhere without emissions testing and I could delete it, but that’s a whole lot of money to spend on something and have no warranty.

Being hung then....
I suppose... it depends on the length and girth of the rope. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️😂
