Wanted to update this thread.
I have around 60,000 miles on the conversion and still running great. In fact, I recently swapped the 6.4 intake onto the 5.7 and HP Tuners opened my tune up to see and allow adjustments for the dual runners.
Runs very smooth and may have increased my fuel mileage by a couple mpg. Seems to have added a bit of a kick in it when you getting on the skinny pedal and the dual runners switch

Sorry if I missed in in another post, but was the cylinder deactivation removed in the motor during the install?

There are areas in Calif that don't do smog testing. One is not far from me. Can JT's in those areas get a Hemi without any testing. I don't want to deal with an out of state plate.

The emissions laws apply statewide. Smog checks are based on the population of the county. The same rules have to be followed to get it registered. It's still illegal to drive, even with an out of state plate.

This has been discussed at length in other threads. The swap is not legal in California since the engine being installed is not a factory option for the vehicle. If you live in an area where inspections are not required, you can buy and register the truck and then do an unapproved swap and probably get away with it for years. It becomes a problem if you try to sell it in California, or the county you registered it in starts requiring inspections.
