AEV Mojave is it worth the price

Why is AEV even mentioned? This is not an AEV build or has any AEV parts such as their bumpers, etc. This Snazberry Gladiator has the AMW707 motor swap and Teraflex suspension installed by Joes Jeep Jungle. I see no mention of AEV parts or modifications performed by AEV. I had an AEV 392 conversion and AEV suspension (4.5" lift on 37's), re-geard front & rear axles front & rear bumpers, roof rack, snorkel, etc installed at AEV in Wixom Michigan in 2019 on my 2016 JKU Rubicon. The JT example posted here as far as I can tell has nothing to do with AEV.

A. You can't get a 392 gladiator stock
B. With the introduction of the JLU willys 392 they can be had around $63k
C. Not that the 392 is a slouch, but the extra ~230hp is like having the 392 and the 3.6L powering the truck
Obviously it's not remotely worth it to those that find the 3.6L sufficient. Those that want a v8 gladiator would spend that buying a base sport and 5.7L swapping it.

All true but a premium AEV package with a 65% bump up in power (470 HP for the 392 vs 707 HP) is where the cost comes in. For just about any location this rig would be a unicorn and in my opinion is worth the cost. But, everyone has their own wants and needs.

Might be my wording, but that was the point I was getting at. For a 700hp mojave it's a hell of a deal. I got a great deal on my 2023 mojave at $53k out the door (msrp of $65k). With the suspension, bumper, winch, tires, etc I'm another $10k into it shopping killer deals and doing all the work myself. To get it to this point I'd have to spend another $89k on the AMW 707 swap. That's $150k despite discounted parts and doing a bunch of the work myself. If I didn't already have a built JT I would be very interested in this truck at $100k. It's only not worth it to those who think v8 power is overkill (even NA 5.7L power) and those who are happy with a base model sport. There are many people on this forum with $100k into their built gladiators that still have stock powertrains.

All depends on the market. There's a market for those god awful SoFlo Jeeps and the silly as a soup sandwich 6x6 conversions. Might not be a big one but it exists. Same goes for the Hellephant etc swapped Jeeps.

Fact is the basic swap is the same between the 5.7, 6.4 and the monster V8s so offering them as a halo is a neat way to both create a market and separate moolah from a high net worth individual without any additional costs.

Not trivial at all!!! Imagine running through the desert at 90mph in a $100k vehicle and a Honey bee smashes into your windshield!! At 55mph those things make a heck of a mess in my $30k vehicle and I’m unhappy. At 90mph in a $100k vehicle it would effectively blind you! The splatter area in relation to the speed of the vehicle and volume of washer fluid has a very real chance of the next whoop being where you said “Whoops!”. Bye Bye Birdy.

People pay $100K plus on toys all the time, look how expensive boats can be. $100K to you might seem like $100 to someone else. I've put a lot more than that on toys......my money, not someone else's to worry about.

I agree you can spend that on a vehicle with different parts. I'm just saying the brand is not worth $100K. Those parts probably are.

Clearly you've never priced a hellcat engine. The forged internals, supercharger, and intercooler aren't free or cheap. Adding to the cost, AMW ads a huge cooling system to their forced induction systems including a huge reservoir where the spare tire goes (adding a bed mounted spare tire rack to the build). Do the parts add the $50k delta between the 392 swap and the hellcat swap? Of course not, but it's probably $20-25k in extra parts cost. Then there's the huge increase in installation time. It's say they are adding a luxury/ deep pocket tax of $5-10k that isn't justified in the parts and installation, but it's not some wild mark up on my opinion.

If you add a 0 on the end. You can easily find unmodified LJs with well under 100k miles for $15-20k. 190hp, terrible suspension compared to the JL, weak axles by comparison. Literally in no way better than a new JL. If you'd spend $100k on one I'm guessing you're to foolish to ever have $100k to spend. Here's the value of one with just 15 original miles. But you could pay 5x that for no reason other than nostalgia.

They're building an incredible product, better than Toledo can and their marketing is 100% spot on. The 5.7 and 6.4 are their bread and butter. After all, the only thing crazier than a $93K 1K+ HP is spending $93K to stuff it into a $65K (still overpriced) truck. Why, $40K sound affordable by comparison!

Of course if you price any loaded, v8 powered, 4x4, new truck from the factory you're looking at nearly $100k and you're stuck with a full size. Exactly why even the wife is on board with the 6.4L swap when the 3.6L dies, it's cheaper than a new JT and half the price of a new v8 truck.
