Those are a nice solution, except I want my seatbelt warring to let me know when I forget to fasten my seatbelt.
So you want a warning you're not wearing your belt but you don't want the truck to stop if you don't have it on backing up with the door open? C'mon man.

IS there an issue to just plug in your seatbelt THEN get in the car and backup with the door open? I certainly wouldn't want to carry extra "stuff" like those extenders JUST for the very few times I'd actually do this....

The "extra stuff" you're referring to stays plugged into the truck. You never have to remove it, ever. I bought them because they were inexpensive and hassle free. You'll never know they are there.

I am not trying to get anyone to do anything different than what they already do. If you need the seatbelt on to feel comfortable moving the truck, so be it. I personally am not a fan of having to do it every time I hook up the boat or back into the garage with the door open. It's nanny-state bullshit and I found a cheap way around it. Just thought I would share.

When I'm backing my JT with the door open and seat belt off, I lightly push the break pedal and AutoPark does't engage. Best technique I found, and it is FREE.

When using the seatbelt extender and I forget to remove it then maybe forget to fasten my seatbelt and don't receive the seatbelt warring, my chances of injury increase substantially if an on road accident would happen (no matter who is at fault).

Personally, I no longer need a reminder to put on my belt. Been wearing it for decades now; it has become habit and muscle memory LONG ago. My issue is there is the rare occasion when I choose not to belt up: rolling up my dead end street, rolling around a farm field, crawling on an easy trail. I don't want or need a nanny to relentlessly bitch at me in these situations.

Manual trans doesn’t seem to care about door being open and the engine starts back up when in neutral during autstop and you open the doors - seems like odd logic to me. Maybe to preserve the battery? Figuring you are letting it idle for a bit?

Insert a belt extender into your seat buckle.
