I removed those euro wind deflectors or whatever they are called underneath the turn signals ... I didn't like how exposed that left the fog lights and wiring .. so cut the plastic with Dremel .. and problem solved .. this is a rough draft .. gonna need to sand down and smooth a lil more .. then I'll just rattle paint it ..

Does the Iottie work with CarPlay? i like the iOttie so you not always using the bottom connector, but wasn't aware if it works with Car Play
No it does not work with Car Play, I don't use Car Play it much, if I need to then I just plug in a cable.

Thanks for the info. I had the Bushmaster flat fenders and liked that it slowed you to keep the factory inner fenders. But not sure they come out with I've for the JT. These look sharp for sure! I really miss having a flat surface to rest tools and beer on while I work. LOL.

Thanks. I really like them.

Installation is not complicated, but it is time consuming. Figure on a whole day. You have to remove the factory stuff, including the clips, and drill out most of the existing holes a bit for the new hardware. Then, paint the newly exposed metal and wait for drying before bolting everything up. Also, if you have the OEM Rubicon rails, you'll want to cut and recap them front and rear on both sides--they're extra long from the factory and look silly when not obscured by the OEM fenders. I cut mine to match the line of the rears, which extends a bit beyond the body, and to end with the body in the front. Looks great and now there is no way II believe and hope) that they will get hit by the 37s.

Wiring is straightforward. There is an odd side effect, only if you have the factory LEDs: the DRLs now stay dimly lit even when off, due to their extremely low draw (able to run off BUS power) and the fact that they do not answer the ECU with the expected OEM ID code. Also, you will get a turn-signal error, though they work perfectly, which is immediately cleared by a Tazer or whatever programmer you might use. The always on-ish DRLs will not draw enough power to ever drain your battery, even if left on for months without starting the Gladiator. Still, Metalcloak is developing a fix, which they expect to have for early adopters and as a kit option in the coming month or two.

Worth noting: the difference in clearance to the lowest parts of the fenders is huge, even from the Rubicon’s higher fenders. Haven’t measured the exact difference, but I would not be surprised if it is +4" to 5” or so, which it appears to be. Time to adjust my bump stops.

Took delivery/custody/ownership of Rudius yesterday morning, drove it home in the afternoon, took the driver's-side top off and went to dinner with friends in the evening.

Built-out and installed the bike transport system - Tacoma rail T-nuts on my existing QR cleats, using hex cap bolts; had to drill-out the existing holes in the cleats since the t-bolts take 3/8-16 (trial and error tip: get the 1 inch, not the 1 1/2 inch length).

Oh, and found out that my Oxx Coffeeboxx won't work in the bed outlet; must draw too much power.

I did the same thing to mine, but I used a utility knife instead of a dremel then cleaned up the edges with a mill bastard file. I only spent about 30 minutes total on it, you could probably clean it up even better if you really wanted but from the front you can't even see them and it doesn't really bother me.

Any chance of someone whacking their face on that in a wreck? Also does it interfere with folding the rear seat down? I know I have to pivot the headrests to get it down now.
Thanks. I like the look!
We rarely have back seat passengers. That said, I suppose anything is possible in a wreck. I'm not a physician or a scientist and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I did go sit in the back seat. I'm 6' 1" and if I sit in the back seat and lean forward my head does touch the Atomic Monkey holder. Of course that would vary based on front seat position and passenger height. If the seat was farther forward or tilted further, I don't know that my head would contact at that point.

That said, I found it padded and not uncomfortable. I wouldn't use it as a pillow, but I'm thinking a soft impact would not cause significant issues. I'm thinking the only way my head would impact there in a crash, would be if I was not wearing a seat belt. And if I'm not wearing a seat belt, it's also possible I'd just watch the fire extinguisher go by as flew past, en route to the windshield. I suppose my head could snap off my neck with the seat belt in place, but in an impact that would cause my head to fly forward and detach from my body, I'm thinking impacting the fire extinguisher would be the least of my worries.

I also tested the back seat folding down. I was able to fold the seat down without touching the fire extinguisher mount (and without folding down the head rest). Again, I suspect that would all be dependent on front seat position.

Seriously, though, I wanted the fire extinguishers to be within arm's reach for myself and my passenger and these fit the bill. The mounts seem very secure and I don't see any potential for the fire extinguishers to shift while in motion. I'm happy with the product quality and placement.

Adding this to my build thread shortly, but I figured I would post here. I installed the tube doors and then added mirrors.

Also I'd suggest looking into a stubby antenna. I got one off amazon. Super cheap and removes that garish large aluminum antenna. The stubby black one fist the aesthetic so much better and I have had zero problems with reception.
