Hello Kate,

How do I get added to the list? My JT Rubicon Diesel ( 83 miles on it) bottoms over small bumps that my 220k mile 17 yr old Suzuki Forenza doesn’t even come close to.. This issue really needs to be evaluated and corrected as soon as possible.

Thanks

I was just informed today that my "struts " arrived for my Gladiator. I have an appointment next Tuesday for them to install them. First I know there are no struts on the Gladiator, second no I don't think the "struts " or shocks will fix the bottoming out problem. But I guess someone has to go through this process so they say that didn't work. I will make sure to keep this post updated with what they do replace and what the results are.
Any update?

Man dirt road with lots of potholes today…
Pretty sure my Jeep has worse suspension than a 70s Volvo.
Before next summer I’ll be doing the mopar lift, geometry correction, an upgraded stabilizer, and hydraulic bump stops.
Wish I didn’t have to spend this money, but it’s that bad.
The fiancé road with me and said I should just return the Jeep :)
If you don’t have a diesel, you don’t get it. The front end sucks.
Slap a steel bumper and a winch on there, and you will REALLY love that suspension ;). I have reservations about buying a Mopar Lift, and about giving them more money, based on the current suspension situation... been looking at the MetalCloak leveling kit... I really want Jeep to solve it, they designed it, they should fix it.... ugh, really ticks me off.

Just feels like they should have to do something! At least work with the dealership to get their kit installed for FREE if I buy the Mopar kit, or something... I am just venting at this point... I had such High expectations for this vehicle.

Well I've already experienced the suspension bottoming out plenty of times and I'd imagine its gonna suck even more with the steel bumper I added in

Just do yourself a favor and at the minimum buy a spring/shock spacer kit now. 1.5-2" is good.

Yeah that's what I was planning, but I already have small lift kit from metalcloak it's a 2.5 inch for a gasser so it would be perfect for me,but I'm probably gonna do that once i get my winch since its gonna weigh it down more so that would be a perfect time but I'm still planning :D

I am going in tomorrow for my first oil change (I'll be at about 7500) and have added the bottoming out to my list with the service writer so that I can start the official process.

I went today and got my oil changed and asked them to look at the bottoming out issue. I showed the service writer a video of it bottoming out going down the road at 25 mph. I don't think they drove it or took it very seriously. They did, however, find a broken exhaust bracket which they tried to blame for the noise. They will fix the bracket Friday. I think I'm going to have to battle them/push them on the bottoming out issue. The service writer is a nice guy who actually has a 392 Wrangler on order, so I'm hopeful I'll be able to work with him. I'll post the video in a few and keep the group up to date on how things go.

This is at @25mph. It’s WAY worse at 30 or 40.

That is horrible! I only drove mine for about 25 miles before tossing a spacer, durobump, and 37's on it......I could tell right away when rolling up the curb in my driveway this was going to be a problem though. There just wasn't enough up travel and the poly foam bump stop is WAY too small to absorb the energy.

I have the same video's... Hilarious! Sent them to Jeep, and My Service Manger.... no response.

FYI, Teraflex spacers put a band-aid on mine... I left the bump stop extension out.

So is this a common thing across the whole Diesel line thus far? Or is this an early model problem? Or is it just hit or miss?

I have a 1 inch teraflex spacer sitting around that I was considering putting in the front to put a band aid on it... Any ideas if that would cause issues with the suspension?
