Hi guys,

I am waiting on delivery of my 22 JT and am considering wheels options.
I really want to keep it simple so I am considering running some basic steel wheels.

Ideally a set of spare steel wheels if I can find em, but maybe the basic OEM steel wheels, which I actually like. Maybe a set of the Quadratec steel wheels...who knows ...still looking at options

Anyway, if anyone is running a set of steelies and has any pics/thoughts they can share that would be great! Seems like steel wheels are becoming less and less common, but I like them...

Thanks in advance!

I think the OEM spare wheel is the best looking steelie out there.

And its probably the highest quality. US made vs China for almost all the aftermarket ones.

I run Wheel Vintiques steelies. They are expensive for steel wheels, but I love them. I am a fan of steel wheels. These things have taken massive hits that would have cracked some wheels. They are repairable when bent. And I like the classic look.

That's a way that steel wheels are universally superior to alloys. If you smack the rim you can always pound it back into shape so it will hold air as long as the metal is still there. Ha.

I was going to as well... But I could not find a full set ANYWHERE .... dealerships typically do not stock spare wheels in any significant numbers and they have been on backorder everywhere for months. I wasn't going to order 5 wheels from 5 different dealerships... I really wanted this military/utilitarian look myself, as I am retired Marine Corps and it was right up my alley... I finally decided to move on... now I'm in the same situation for the TPMS sensors. If you want to see what they look like running on a Rig, there is a father/son team that did it to their Gobi JT. Start at 14:50..... hope this helps !

I just met up with a guy and bought one locally. Fingers crossed I can find more. He said he works at the local Jeep dealership and would let me know if he comes across any. The TFL Gladiator came out great! The wheels looks awesome with the Gobi color. Mine will be a Sarge Green. I appreciate the response..Thanks!

Yep, been running solid steelies for almost 4 years (3.5 years on my JLUR and 6 months on my Mojave). A bit heavy for their size bit I love them and get compliments all the time on them. Not as cheap as they used to be however! US Wheel Rat Rod in a 17x8.

Cheers

ooh, ME!
I went with the Pro Comp 17X9s, I'm a fan of the d-window holes over the round holes.
The only thing I wish was better is the center caps are already oxidizing and going gray/chalky...

My busted bead and repair are in this thread. Hit a steel bollard pretty hard...

Looks good! I like the D windows. One of the classic looks! Def more expensive now. I remember buying circle 8's for my old YJ yrs ago for like 40 bucks each lol
