Mine is just over 1100.
Sport Willys. Auto with a hardtop.

I thought mine was low until I saw this thread. ?

Although, I think mine only tows 4500. I'm ok with that because I don't plan on towing anything too big. Maybe just a small dump trailer if I ever need it or a small camper.

Idk why people want to tow or carry so much with such a small truck with not enough power. If you need to haul or carry more stuff. You got the wrong truck for you needs vs. wants.
I just need the family of 5, 2 Pelican coolers, 2 tents, water, food, and a 10x10. Other misc gear obviously. Oh yeah clothes will be good. That alone gets close which is why I was like "crap" about the 114lbs from stated. Granted I have 2 Kodiak Canvas cross-bow tents ( 150lbs combined ), and the 2 coolers weigh 90lbs combined *empty*. I think the tents and coolers loaded hit 400lbs.

Not carrying bricks and gravel or towing, here.

Four people, luggage or sporting equipment, and a cooler could put me over The 961 lbs rating. I don’t think that’s very much to expect a midsized truck to haul.

Could put the entire family on a diet. lol
Save on food too. It's either the Jeep or the family at this point.
I am 250 lb I'm throwing all this blame around - but I am really the problem I should be sold!

You need to give yourself a little less credit and a little more narcissist to your personality. I'm an asshole and it feels great. ?

Just an FYI, the Ford Maverick had a 1,500lb payload, where as some F-150's are 1,300lbs. Who knows where these numbers, sometimes i think they are pulling them out of a ht or a CrackerJack Box. LOL!

Obvious there are facts and engineers behind it. I just wish it was a little more transparent.
If that is true about the maverick I suspect a lot of it could have to do with how much lower it is to the ground and how much less suspension travel, etc. As a parallel comparison our 2008 Volvo V70 station wagon had something like a 1,400lb payload...that car was built very well, but also kept any weight down low.

Seems to be a fair amount of Buyer's Remorse from some folks who did not do enough research before the purchase coupled with a lot of assumed "facts" on design and physics. After all, the door jamb decal is only a suggestion, right?

since I didn’t buy it off a dealer’s lot I couldnt see the decal.

I understand that options and configurations and plain old marketing would result in a lower payload than I saw on the Jeep website when I made my decision on a Willys.

But 56.5% of the payload on Jeep’s published specifications is a surprise.

Life is too short for remorse.
