But that doesn't stop the flooding of YT by sudden experts who did something once and now advise the world of their fixes and monetizing on it. The "this is how you fix DW" experts, the "my engine shake caused DW" videos, and worse - some of the stuff is scary.I use a browser called Brave. Blocks all the ads. I couldn’t stand how bad it had gotten previously.
It's like my brother ran into - his neighbor installed some software on a computer for him - now that neighbor is the neighborhood expert on all tings computer. He installed "Office" and it worked, so the guy is a hero. Or the guy who 'rebuilt" the automatic transmission in his AMX in his driveway. He posted a YT video explaining how auto transmissions work - all of the passages and pressures and this and that and people started quoting him in forums, all over creation. The problem - he was dead wrong. Another guy watched the video and came into the AMC forum 'explaining" what the throttle linkage was for and how to adjust it, and how the throttle pressure controlled shifting and so on. He was dead wrong and transmissions were gonna burn if anyone followed his crap. I called him out on it, even with quotes and pictures and scans from MOPARs own tech data (it was a TF727) and he got pissed and said "no, I know what I'm talking about because I watched xxxx video".
I tried to explain that guy did ONE transmission in his driveway and it worked and that's his credentials - but I post from MOPAR's own tech info, and college books, and years of rebuilding transmissions and I'm wrong? He was hot.
Be very careful - and the more showy the video is with their face right in the camera making some goofy-@$$ facial expression - they are a showman looking for clicks.
Anyway, it's not the ads so much, it's the stupid videos out there that "hey, I can make a video, show myself on YT and make MONEY!" bit - most have no real clue.
