Here's the results of my 2024 Rubicon oil analysis after the first 1600 miles. Definitely highlights the need to change oil very early on. I just got the oil changed and I'll probably do my next sample +2,000 miles from now. I like how this should be able to highlight things happening like lifter/cam wear.
A few follow-up edits to summarize conversations below:
1. The high metal content in this report is expected as part of breaking in a new motor. It will go down (SHOULD GO DOWN) with subsequent analysis after the oil change (see the comments in the report at the bottom).
2. Where can this be done? Blackstone Labs / Speediagnostix are two options people use. I'm sure others may be mentioned in this thread and/or findable in a Google search.
3. Why oil analysis? I got the bug after watching this video on YouTube talking about motor oil and engines: Sitting Down With Lake Speed Jr. - The Truth About Oil Change Intervals and Analysis
4. The nitty gritty of it all is oil changes are always cheaper than engine changes.
