5.7 should be the base engine and bring back the Diesel. The 3.6 just "ticks me off"
I think this is the new intention of Stellantis. After they canned the CEO for the pricing and electrification fiascos, the new CEO said he's bringing the Hemi back... and said there would be one in the Gladiator.

Everyone starts dreaming about 392 or Hellcat at that point, but I agree that the 5.7 is the sweetspot. A TRX gets single digit gas mileage, don't know what a 392 Wrangler gets, .... and you are getting BETTER gas mileage than you did in the Pentastar 6! And will be able to tow anything this wheelbase can handle. In a proven, reliable engine. And if they can get the heat under control in a 392 Wrangler, then the Gladiator should be able to handle a 5.7!

Shoulda been in the Gladiator a long time ago!

I'm curious about the long term serviceability of these.

Are there any dedicated, proprietary parts that need regular service or would potentially stop it from running in 15 years?

I can almost convince myself to pay for this, but honestly, I'll probably just buy one already swapped.

I forgot, what was the turnaround time on the swap?

It's all off the shelf mopar parts. If you can service a JT and a ram, charger, etc with a 5.7L in 15 years you'll be able to service your 5.7L JT just the same.

Turnaround is 3-4 weeks at Rubitrux. Not sure if you go straight to AMW.

I need to know if they'll do it on a manual. This would be a backup plan if my cam shaft gets eaten up again. With a V8 and a manual I'd never need another vehicle. I'd also never push 400 HP through it. I have other trucks for towing.

I second that notion and add:
With a V8 and a manual in a convertible truck I'd never need another vehicle.

Ask them and report back. 😁

I am not going to pay for a swap when I soon will be able to get one from the factory.

Picked it up Friday, 4 weeks to the day I dropped it off. I literally couldn't be happier with this AMW kit. And being able to run 87 octane with it, to me, makes it perfect.

Do they recomend Ethanol free or is 10% ok

I don't buy that it's 100% Mopar parts. From AMW's website (linked in an earlier post), there are several unusual things:
  • Engine Mounting System: Clevite Mounts | Engine Cradle
  • Proprietary Powertrain Calibration: PCM | Remote Tuning Feature
  • Stainless Steel Mandrel Bent 3.5” Exhaust System
  • Powertrain Harness
  • Integrated Body Control Module Tool + Gateway Bypass
  • 241 T-Case Half + Input Shaft
And they specifically mention A/C compressor & lines, high-torque starter, high-output alternator, radiator, and 850-watt cooling fan. May or may not be Mopar stuff.

While unlikely, if something happens to any of these things, you're not going to be able to replace anything without AMW's help.

But AMW seems to be the best in the business, so I'd be they know how to take care of all these things. I'm just saying that if you blow a radiator hose, you're not going to be able to walk in and out of O'Reilly with a new one without help from AMW.
