They’re definitely lifestyle vehicles having their own unique culture. I love my Gladiator truck and wouldn’t trade it for anything else on or off the road.In most die hard Jeep circles, it is considered a social faux pas to call a Jeep (Wrangler and the Gladiator derivative) a "car". It somewhat alludes to people that bought the vehicle as transportation first and not a lifestyle vehicle.
It's a generic term applied to any vehicle used to provide transportation. I refer to my JT as a truck, rarely ever refer to it as a Jeep. It is my daily transport, mostly for work. It replaced a full size pickup. Here and elsewhere I’ve seen Gladiators and even Wranglers referred to as “cars.” I never refer to my Gladiator as a “car.” Am I missing something or just being nit picky?
It’s whatever he who pays $60,000 for it calls it.
Yep, I’ve owned Ram 1500 and 4 Grand Cherokee Laredo’s and never referred to any of these exceptional vehicles as “cars.” Just ain’t rightIt's a generic term applied to any vehicle used to provide transportation.
