Hello all...
My Gladiator gets delivered on Saturday. I was going over it's features and I saw a button that cought my eye... found out this vehicle has the auto start/stop feature which seems like a horrible on a diesel. Nothing sez ware out a starter like a million start / stops on a high compression engine. It's a ridiculous feature on any car and I don't like it.
After that rant... have any of you installed a start stop delete kit? Have you had any issues? I see there is one available from a sponser of this forum.
Thanks for reading

You’d get a better first impression on here if you used the search feature but while I’m here there’s several methods to keep it off including a tazer, jscan, or just unplugging one of the push pins for the hood.

Seatbelt must be engaged for it to be on…or you can just learn how to feather the skinny peddle to keep it from engaging.

There is no ESS delete kit. It is part of the system and always active. The button on the dash will prevent it from turning the engine off, when it normally would, but must be pressed at every startup. This is a gift from your friends at the EPA.

There are multiple methods available to automatically push the button for you, and several that cause error conditions so that ESS won't turn the engine off.

If I was going to spend money, I would get the Start/Stop Eliminator from the forum sponsor. I'm cheap, so I've just been pushing the button on the dash for the last five years.

I have a Tazer. It remembers the last position the button was in, and stays there.

Thought the same on mine. Brief starts and stops with a diesel probably generates more pollution than letting it idle, and what does a new starter cost?

Pressing the override button right after the start button becomes second nature but is still another annoyance brought to us by the EPA or DOE…

The website says for the Wrangler and doesn't mention the Gladiator, but I'm assuming it works for both?
Just checked my order, same part number for both JL and JT

Its a ridiculous feature..Don't see the need on a diesel. Tazer is my answer. Or push the button without fail.
