I kept leaves on the rear of the XJuggy for a reason, they worked. Did I add traction bar after snapping a center pin on a steep hill climb, absolutely. That trail fix required three winches and two hilifts to stabilize the rig. ?

Never could get the Waggy leaves in the front to stop bending and wrapping severely due to space constraints so back to coils it went. That was a shame, those leaves rode and flexed amazing.
I'd put any Javelin I've ever owned up against a lot of "cars" that have coils. They are leaf spring rears and have the nicest rides of almost anything I've ever owned. Smooth across tracks, bumps are no problem. I used to autocross (rather unofficially) my 68. My 70 rode even better. It was a great car for taking parents out to dinner, or going on a date it was so smooth riding and handling. Curves, dips and bumps - smooth. I could drive one of them across the country with fatigue from rough roads.
They aren't meant for radical articulation and pushing the limits of flex on rocky trails, but if you want smooth rides and decent performance on road - they're good.
The factory had a great idea for controlling wheel hop in the 70 I had - torque links. They were a bushed rod that bolted to a frame bracket and another bracket on the axle tube. Made my car squat and scoot with no wheel hop, no axle twist, and impressive traction.

On my 572 CI big block Dart. I used the Mopar Super Stock leaf springs with an adjustable pinion snubber. The right leaf pack had 5 full leaves and 4 half leaves. The half leaves had the rear half cut off. The left side leaf pack had 5 full leaves and 3 half leaves.

Dang after reading the last 5 pages I want to go check mine out notched or not. If I had read it this morning I would have, I installed fuel tank skid today... ? a late 2020 Max-Tow. I'll have to check.

Seems they revised and removed the notch some time after March and before July in 2020.
Any other 2020 build Month dates we can add to substantiate this?

Something else that occurred to me today is that vehicles with conventionally mounted leaf springs dont bend behind the front leaf mount because the back of the frame is supported by the other end of the leaf spring spreading the load more evenly.

Driving on I-5 today, I can see the rear of the bed dipping down as the rear axle rolled over the sharp concrete cracks. I had my dry food and kitchen camping box at the tailgate.......about 60lb?

So I finally got around to checking mine…

Bad news, 2020 JTR Launch Edition and I’ve got the dimple on both driver and passenger frame rails.

That being said I’ve not gone easy on the truck and have had no issues. Looks like no full send for me!
