Yes. This is funny. The price points are all over the place. I’m still getting a JT. Just my build trim preference may adjust lol.

Lol. I just want a base sport with max tow and a couple small options. If the price of the JT is too high then I have no trims lower to adjust to.
At this point all I care about is if that the configuration I want is less than 40k.

I assume that a large part of the Gladiator was developed along side the JL combining the development costs over two vehicles. The rear end of the frame was said to be a modified RAM/possible new Dakota frame again combining the development costs across two vehicles. If they are able to utilize some of the same parts for more than one vehicle as most manufactures do these days then that should lower initial cost for all vehicles concerned. They have already increased the cost of the JL almost 5K over the Jk and as far as I have seen have not had any trouble selling them. I do not think that FCA would have a problem seeing profit comparable to the JL for the JT even if they priced it exactly the same as the JL or at least in line with other mid sized trucks unfortunately I think that they are shooting for high costs/higher profit and as a result will just end up pricing a lot of their customers, including myself, out of the market.
Completely aside from your pricing speculation- The frame is NOT a Ram frame, or even a modified Ram frame - its a completely unique frame designed specifically for the Gladiator.

It may have also been designed for the Dakota. We do not know that it is designed for the Gladiator only.

To be fair, at this point it is.

No. At this point all we know is that it will be used on the Gladiator. We do not know that it was designed for the Gladiator only. There is a difference.
Point taken.

No it’s not the Dakota frame and yes it was designed for the Gladiator only. Dakota (or Ram <insert name>) is already getting ready for it’s return. It will be built in the Jeep Toledo plant alongside the JT but is body on frame.

You really think so? This is one of my most important options. I personally don't want a screen that is smaller than my phone, or I would rather have no screen. And plan on using Android Auto. Maybe any bugs would be worked out by now?
Yeah I really think so. Here's what Android Auto is great at: It takes your 2019 devices and turns them into 1981 devices with the push of a button!

$1,000 for a "Tech Package" that doesn't include any tech is insane. If you want any of the good stuff FCA offers on the Wrangler/Gladiator, you find all of that stuff in separate packages. Remote start, NAV, proximity entry, off road pages, advanced safety, vehicle health reports, etc. etc... none of that is in the "Tech Package". It's an utter waste of money.

Of course, if the ONLY thing that matters to you is the physical size of the screen, then by all means go for the option. But just know that you aren't getting any functionality for it. The 5" screen will do AM/FM/XM just like the 7" will which is all I find myself using the 7" screen for anyhow since it's extremely limited in it's usefulness.

Yeah I tried Android auto on my Pacifica, it sucked. Gotta figure out best way to play Google music. I think a USB cable is the only way for you to use the cars voice commands.
