Was going to go that route. Cam bolts are cheap. But you have to grind the oblong hole on both sides. Decided to go with Adjustable LCA's instead. Easier install but a little pricier!

No, use Mopar lower control arms or AEV or Ranchero control arm drop brackets to add caster.
I may have misinterpreted the initial post, I thought you were asking if you should use cam bolts, my answer to that is no, but they will add caster.

According to my suspension shop, the factory spec for caster is low, and dialing in more for my JTR made a big positive improvement. Mopar LCA's for the 2" lift kit are cheap at @AllMoparParts.com and take maybe 30 min to install.

Why add more to a stock vehicle?

No to cam bolts.

They slip and you destroy your control arm brackets for when you want to get rid of the crappy cam bolts.

To all of you that replied, thank you. I ordered the mopar lower arms to gain the needed caster.

I’m curious why Jeep/Stellantis would engineer the suspension with castor that is too low from the factory.

it’s not a cost thing. An upper or lower arm that is a tiny bit longer or shorter wouldn’t cost any different.

Any suspension gurus know why?

Tagging you Pops as you’ve been around the block, a few times. ;)

Apparently cell towers around here have lost data/internet connection, home internet down, trying this with my phone up at the peak of my shop set up to tether to a chromebook - so, we'll see how this works.
Yeah, I'm even looking like I've been around the block a few times.

I've been questioning the caster on these because - they seem to be better off with caster far higher than other "trucks".
A few weeks ago I found a discussion on Ford truck caster - top end was 5 and I believe the low part of the range was around 4. Ford people are saying "that's high and that's why Ford is using less caster now".
LIMITED access to internet now until things get fixed so can't get to my saved links easily (on computer in house where there's NO internet)
After seeing the "discussion" on Ford caster specs, I decided to browse my library and see what vehicles might have caster as high as 5 degrees........ only a couple, and those were in the area of 4.75 +/- .5 - believe it or not - THUNDERBIRD was among them.
I have yet to pull out my truck specs books (buried behind a row of other books up high) to check - and am digging through my old Jeep books to see what I can find. Group 10.000 was steering in the old TSBs so will peruse my old Jeep stuff and see what I can find there as well.

Somewhere I thought I had a page saved with the JT alignment specs - full specs - caster, camber, toe, etc. and I bet it's on google drive or on my FTP folder where I can't get to for some reason. (probably the crawling internet through my phone tether)

JT castor should be 4.5. But people extend that to 5 to control that wander. It shouldnt have to be touched on a stock JT.
