Not sure where is best for this, if a better place please feel free to move.
Been set on a diesel 3.0 since the were launched. As I'm thinking and mulling I'm getting close to changing my mind.
Diesel towing and Tq+ at lower rpm main reason for one. Issues payload, def problems in cold, now heat issues under load. Fuel capacity, minor but annoying. I live in Idaho; teens in winter are common. Main reason for the rig is as a tow vehicle for my 16' toy hauler. I travel in the summer/spring, high desert, hot long hauls all over the west. The ripe areas for over heats apparently. Add in cost upfront and it has me thinking.
Magnusson, + HP out the wazoo and tq. I can order a Max Tow (and be one the cool kids who posts that every time!). Get higher pay load and tow ratings. Have the power and tq beyond the diesel. Better fuel capacity but worse mileage portably a wash on range. Be a slightly higher total out lay, 4500 diesel package vs 7500 for the supercharger installed.
Diesel factory warrantied, supercharger via Magnusson, I'll need to read what they cover if the unit takes out an eng or drive train.
Thoughts? Ideas, feed back?
