So I just regeared to 4.88’s, the install was done by an Offroad shop (word on the street is they do gears regularly). During the break-in process I noticed a slight whine from the front while coasting..this was my first red flag. 2nd red flag happened today while doing hwy break in. It felt like the front driveshaft was spinning. I got to work this morning and confirmed the front driveshaft is spinning in 2wd.
My question is: If and what could’ve been damaged during this? It does not feel like 4WD is activated as I can turn just fine etc. Should the shop replace the front gears again? Any damage to the FAD or transfer case? What is the proper fix the shop should be doing to ensure quality work was done? Thanks in advance for any replies.
