In the video of the install on the red truck he said the dash lights " go crazy " when the brakes are activated without a trailer. Does this condition go away on it's own?
f memory serves me correct his dash went nuts because of something he didn’t hook up at the right time or something like that! I used the redarc without any issues! And have used it to pull my trailer. But no real weight!

I haven’t had any issues after installing the Curt controller.

I never had the crazy dash light situation.

Just make sure there is a diode in the brake line wire and it wont mess the dash. Some of the harness's folks were ordering did not have it. If you order the one for the Dodge Ram it has the diode, you just need to swap Blue and Black wire and all is good.

Where is the best place to put the dial control? I was thinking about the center console but that doesn't look to easy. Where did you place yours. My parts arrived today and i just finished the blue black swap.

I replced the 12V outlet myself because I wanted it in the factory spot and never really used it.

Here’s where I put mine it’s right above my right knee! I like you thought about the center console but didn’t want to mess with it that much!

I used the 12V power port location as many have. If you get the removal tool from amazon (doorman) it will remove the port without taking the dash apart. I removed the outlet, slid the wire back and snapped my knob in. Took longer to swap the Blue and Black wire than getting the controller installed.

??????? The knob that I have is much smaller than the hole that will be left when the 12V outlet is removed. what did you do about that?

Interesting how @sarguy1941 just removed the socket and put the Redarc lead right in the hole.
If you use the snap in adapter in the post above there is no reason to get behind the dash. I just used a fish to pull the wire under my steering wheel and mounted the controller to the cross base as others have. If you use the snap in you do need to make a new "slot" in the dash. I just used a small file. The controller mounts to the snap in plate and you snap it in just like the power port snapped in. One of the other threads also shows a Oring you can install after that "fills" in the gap from the dash to the snap in.
