Brand new here...just picked up my new-to-me 2022 Gladiator High Altitude today...

Question on gas mileage: What do people expect to get? Going 75mph on the highway, without significant wind, flat ground near sea level, with A/C on, I showed average 14 MPG over 300 miles. I was expecting closer to 20. The sticker says to expect 22 highway.... Is that what others see? 15K miles on the truck

Back it off to 70mph and see what you get.

I've got 35's (315's) and a 2.5 inch lift on mine and expected a big drop. But I am still getting 20 to 21 at 70mph on flat highways. I've got 4.10 gearing in the Rubicon with the 8 speed auto. Shockingly, it gets better mileage at 70mph than my JL Rubicon with 4.56 gears and 35's. The best it will do is about 18.5. So I think the auto/4.10 gears gets the Gladiator's rpms at that speed down to the sweet spot.

And check your mpg with real data....fill up, reset the trip, fill up again and figure it with actual gallons used. It isn't 100% accurate but it will get you closer than the Jeep's computer. My JL tends to get an actual 1mpg lower than the computer says. The Gladiator is usually spot on or 1/2 mpg better than the computer. I had it indicate 20mpg and the actual came out to 21. So I hope when it has shown 21 I might actually be getting 22.

My Overland stock was getting around 18 city and 21-22 highway but we did get it to 24 MPG on the highway once..

It has since been lifted 2.5" and on 35's and now we get around 14.5 city and around 17.5 highway.. varies a bit for us since we live partially on a steep grade highway and in a super windy area.

2020 Gladiator Overland 86,000 miles (all mine), wheels and suspension are stock. Enjoy long roadtrips in this rig and have taken many trips totaling 1200 miles or more round trip. I average 74 mph hwy, unless I'm south of Washington, DC, then I run around 80 mph. My running MPG average is still 21.5-22 mpg. I run 87 octane, change the oil and air filters and rotate the tires at all suggested intervals. The biggest mpg killer are mods - especially heavy, oversize tires in my opinion. My stock Goodyear Wrangler ATA 255/70 R18's weigh about 50 lbs each vs 63 lbs each for a Falken Wildpeak 285/60R18 (on my wife's wrangler) and they only get heavier from there. I like the ride quality and the gas mileage which was the main reason i chose to stay with stock. As a compromise, I did add 2" mammoth wheel spacers to widen the stance and give me some "poke".

I got 21-22 hwy in my stock sport s max tow, now 19-20 with oversized tires (285/75/17). Flat. Texas. Sweet spot is 69mph

I consistently get between 20 and 21 MPGs running around (closer to 20 in the winter).

Highway, stick the cruise at 70 MPH and I get between 25 and 26 MPGs (all calculated fill to fill which is generally about 0.3-0.5 MPG greater than the dash shows). The best I ever saw was 27.2 MPG. Must've had a tail wind that tank

Stone stock Overland (ordered 5/19, built 6/19, delivered 7/19). Tires at around 40 psi cold, still the factory tires. When I eventually need to replace them, I'll be going with the Hankook DynaPro ATm probably the 265 flavor for just a bit better foot print especially when towing which, by the way, a 27', 5,100 lb (with all we want or need) travel trailer I get between 12.5 and 13 MPGs. I'll probably lose about 0.5 MPG with the wider tires due to increased rolling and wind resistance but, I'll take it.

16.76 lifetime on a new 2023 Sport Max Tow. That's 3347 miles driven on 199.656 gallons, assuming the truck was 100% full when I bought it (which I doubt). All but about 200 miles of that was on 35" pizza-cutter Baja Boss ATs. No other mods worth mentioning.

That's a poor showing, considering it was mostly highway mileage, but there are some mitigating factors:

Most of the mileage was on week-long desert camping trips. The truck was fairly heavy with 2 adults and their camping gear and supplies. Also 150lbs of recovery gear.

About 15% was on rough unpaved roads. A fraction of that was rock crawling.

My partner drove about half the miles. She is a less patient driver than I on the highways and more careful off-road, and the fillups after she mostly drove showed 10-15% worse fuel economy.

We drove several hundred highway miles with strong headwinds this spring. The Gladiator does not like strong headwinds.

Before the pop-up camper, I was getting about 16/18. Since I've gotten the camper it's more like 13/15. I also live in a relatively hilly region. No mountains, more like rollers. On long flat stretches of freeway, I can get close to 18 again if I stick to around 65 or 75mph. I sometimes actually get worse mpg at 70 than 75. This is all with a 2020 3.6L Rubi.

I did a round trip yesterday between northwest VT and southern NH, mostly highway/65-70 mph and averaged just over 21 mpg. Without question, my tonneau cover makes a world of difference.

Mine is a 23 Rubicon manual, under 2k miles. I took a trip to Florida from Houston and consistently got 21.5 on the highway. Unfortunately, I and getting 14.5 in the city. It seems to be 15-17 mixed. My Stock Sport Wrangler JKU got 19 consistently. It seems these 3.6 engines are too small for gladiators, as they drink gas and lack power.

First point of order, you need to show off your Jeep with a pic. Is it stock? That seems low being Florida. Unless its lifted with 35in MTs, steel bumpers, winch, smartcap, roof rack, aux lights, recovery tools and you live in Colorado cause that's what I get. Just got back from Tx and it was 15.8 but after week back home its back to 14.5ish.

I am getting 22 combined with a 21 Willys Gladiator. I use cruise control as much as I can, ease on the gas, and do the speed limit. I expect to see 23-24mpgs when I take a trip soon. I had a 2.0T Wrangler JL that could not get 22 mpg combined. Not sure what I got for the no cost option, but it was not gas mileage.

City driving really tanks the MPG's hard though in these vehicles.

I realliy have to be extra light on the throttle in city conditions or it isn't great with 37's!

I'm getting between 16-17.5 mpg in my stock '22 Mojave averaging 55-70mph. This is stock, the only mods I have are non-performance (blind side mirrors, BulletPoint cell phone mount, Rugged Ridge stub antenna, etc) and driving a mix of city street & highway in middle Tennessee and the surrounding areas.

Weirdly, I got between 17-19.5 when driving in southern Texas (between San Antonio and Austin) while going minimum of 75mph (usually closer to 80mph). I can only guess that the flatter terrain and relative lack of humidity may have something to do with it.
