After GDE gets a tune ready it'll be night and day. The torque management and emissions controls are horrendous in the factory tune. Dialing the sluggishness back and making the engine run more efficient and powerful will make these Gen 3s feel like totally different animals.
I'm stoked for this

I am hoping the engine brake and high idle options will make a return as well. I miss those features that I had on my Grand Cherokee. The Gen 3 definitely has more power over the Gen1/Gen2 but tuned having almost 500lb ft of torque will be a game changer when combined with increased fuel efficiency. GDE will be getting an order from me as soon as it is available.

That's funny just yesterday I hit the GDE site to check on this. No updates so far -

Any more recent updates? Is the testing still on track?
Yes, sir. We should have more solid information on the release date by the end of April. Developing a tune isn't difficult, but fine tuning it takes time since testing must occur. But when the tune is finished, it will be the tune that everyone will be looking at. There's probably nobody in the EcoDiesel tuning industry that puts as much time, testing, and effort into producing a tune than GDE. Plus, Keith used to tune for the OEMs, so he knows the parameters probably better than anyone else. It will be worth the wait.

Well this be a CARB compliant tune?

I ran a GDE tune several years ago on a previous vehicle. It ran really well.

CARB compliant but will void powertrain warranty if detected by the dealership correct?
That's not an easy question to answer. My dealer doesn't void warranty because of a tuner, but I'm sure that some might. However, the dealer has to prove that the tune itself caused the damage. With that said, the tune can't be easily detected. I can simply reflash back to the stock tune before warranty work and the dealer can't tell I had a tune. So from that perspective, you can say the GDE tune is pretty much undetectable with the dealer's tool. I've never heard of someone reporting they had their warranty voided due to GDE tune.

Ah, the question becomes is it removable before going to the dealership and if so does it leave a trace?

Edit: damn you @biodiesel you beat me to it.

There are many tuned EcoDiesels now with over 300,000 miles. The highest tuned EcoDiesel just turned 425,000 miles last week!

I thought there was some sort of a counter for flashing that the dealer can see?
