Lol, not necessarily a concern, just something I noticed while researching the two on the forum. If MPG is a big concern, you are shopping for the wrong truck.

Mojave and Rubicon will be identical, gas to gas. The numbers for the Rubicon you're seeing are the 3.0 diesel numbers. And while there's a thread for it, best I can tell the Rubicon will be more capable rock crawling and the Mojave (which I have) will be better for daily driving and weekend wheeling...just my .02Lol, not necessarily a concern, just something I noticed while researching the two on the forum.
I take others MPG claims with a grain of salt. It all depends on where you drive, how you drive etc... I have a zig zag somewhat hilly 30 mile round trip to work and back on country roads. My Sport S was maybe 1-2 MPG better than the Mojave. Can't see the Rubi being any better unless you get a diesel. But unless you are towing you can buy a lot of gas for $4000.00. Just my .02 cents...About to pull up the trigger on a Mojave, but for some reason I've been coming across more favorable MPG number from people with Rubicons...?
AMEN brother every jeep I have owned was not built for MPG
I've dropped a full 2 mpg since it started getting colder. I guess it's the winter blend and the temperatures as well. I am now down to 18.5 highway, 15 city. Gas mileage between the two trims should be the same. Same tires, same gas engine, same transmissions, same final drive ratios, similar weights, same brick-like shape. I'm on 35s, but mileage with the stock 33" MTs vs my current 35" ATs is pretty close to identical. If you do the math, a mile or 2 per gallon won't make much difference in your wallet anyway. Get the truck you want.About to pull up the trigger on a Mojave, but for some reason I've been coming across more favorable MPG number from people with Rubicons...?
Lol- There is no way the pentastar is getting 27 mpg hwy with 4:10 gears. That is sneaky advertising. I don’t get anywhere close to that with 3:73’s.
I think you will find that the Rubicon, unless it is a diesel will give you equal MPG.About to pull up the trigger on a Mojave, but for some reason I've been coming across more favorable MPG number from people with Rubicons...?
That seems really high, even for a highway MT. But then, I'm in a Rubicon with bigger tires. Stock, I got 22 highway. Now, with spacer lift and 35s, about 21 highway. This was a mostly hwy trip. 70 miles averaging about 45 mph with a maximum of 58 mph. 29.5 MPG
Stock Sport Trim with manual transmission.
I get around 25 MPG around town. Can't complain.
Manual tranny a bit more fuel efficient perhaps?
