These are two separate issues. I did not mean to imply the windshield leak had anything to do with the seat. The windshield is leaking into the dash, as it runs down the windshield.

Ha, the truck also has the gorilla glass windshield. Hoping that it holds up better than the standard one but that is yet to be seen.
GG is trash!

Hi All,

First time posting on this forum. I was extremely happy to be joining the gladiator family, however, I have had nothing but issues dealing with @JeepCares on my 2021 Gladiator High Altitude. I have two issues that are concerning to me:

  1. My windshield is leaking water. I took this in for a warranty claim. The dealer agreed that there is an issue with the seal, but disagreed that was causing the water leak. The dealer then put silicone over the issue and sent it back. Jeep cares said they can't do anything about that. Unfortunately, I didn't take a before picture as I didn't think I would be dealing with this.
  2. My seat looks stretched out and sags. I am not an overly large guy, and this is simply unacceptable. The cost of this jeep I would expect the leather to hold shape like it does on the other seats. The leather in my Ram 1500 looked brand new through the three years of ownership.

Working with @JeepCares has been pulling teeth. The representative on my case will not answer her phone, has a full voicemail and does not respond to email. I have to call through and select the option for a new representative who will then transfer me to her, despite my request for a new case manager.

I have been a huge fan of Jeep, and my love of my 2017 Grand Cherokee pushed me towards the Gladiator when looking for a new truck.

These are just the two items that I can't just live with as a quirk. Has anybody else been dealing with poor quality control on their Gladiator?
Thank you for tagging us. If you have your case number handy, please send it to us via private message and we can update the notes reflecting your outreach.

The comment "I paid too much..." needs to be rethought. People are complaining they bought a sometimes 70k vehicle, forgetting its identical to a vehicle that starts at under 30k. Your vehicle is more than twice its base price (yes I'm exaggerating a little but you get the point) in nothing but options. Its painted by the same machine as a 30k vehicle. Assembled by the same people. Your "Premium leather" is installed into the vehicle by the same tool that installs the base model ones. The truck is not premium, its just a fully loaded much cheaper vehicle.

The windshield type stuff happens. The problem is the dealer, not Jeep.
Jeepcares is communication, not a fix-all nor are they technical. They enable communication, convey information, etc. They don't fix things nor can they force a dealer to do anything.
Find another dealership for the leak.

I'm not sure if the seat thing would totally bother me or not.......... maybe, but then I'm not there to evaluate it, either.
(BTW - Jeep buys those seats from another manufacturer........ Jeep doesn't make them.)

But if the issue is those two more minor things - best avoid buying any vehicles at all. I could list what some of the other car makers are messing up to put things in perspective.
Mercedes - 1,000,000 cars recalled - sun roof flies off on the highway
Ford - valves
GM - steering locking
could go on.........
I'd not consider that a huge fail of quality control. Sometimes stuff does slip through, especially with staffing shortages these days.

I've bought brand new vehicles with far worse issues in the past.

Maybe reality check....................... and find a dealer that cares.

If i could not get a leak fixed by one dealer, I'd go to another. And if the first one sends out a survey - give them heXX in the survey.

I can add many things to the Ford issues...Papa hit the nail on the head with his post...Find a better dealer, keep communication up with JeepCares, and realize no car is perfect.

I would put the Jeep in the sun, see if the leather goes back into shape...

This is true but hardly no one orders the 30k without options model, it’s a model to publish a starting price . But your point stands for sure

Compared to the crap I see other people dealing with on hard mechanical issues, consider yourself lucky.

The seat though is a tough one. I know in most FCA vehicles, "leather" is a misnomer on the seats only means the bolsters and side trimmings are actual leather and the main areas are some vinyl "pleather" artificial compound and not real leather.

I am with @IanNubbit in that your $70K dollar quality expectation is misplaced. You just bought extra options and extra things to go wrong when they do.

Sorry to crank a little, but the very first time you ever come here after all the time you have owned the gladiator is to post issues and complain about problems and service?

I have seen vehicles of other brands with way worse issues. How about those Navigators that the manufacturer is currently saying not to park near buildings due to a fire hazard?

Go get another dealer.

The seat? Who knows maybe you sit forward more on your seat and it pushes the fabric back. Go get some PRP covers and be done with that visual issue.

Call me an exception then lol. Wife’s JK only options are hard top and SXM. My JT only options are floor mats and tonneau cover.

Congrats , wish I could do that I’m a push over for options, toys and gadgets..:CWL: you are correct that it makes my gladiator almost double the price and we are essentially in the same vehicle. Guess I stand corrected and I’m glad there is a wide variety of ways to enjoy the gladiators.

Quality has never been Jeep’s strong suit. I’ve have owned six wranglers and now my gladiator. All of them had quality and/or mechanical issues over the short period of time that I owned them. You would figure over the years that Jeep would improve their product. Nope. They increased their price as the popularity of their product has increased.
Also, don’t depend on JeepCares, it’s a marketing ploy. Nothing more.

People Work?
In having some conversations with other new vehicle owners the quality issues seem to extend well beyond the Jeep brand.

It's likely tied to COVID labor and parts shortages, not only at the assembly stages, but across the board with parts suppliers. Everything from electronics to hardware. Nothing is immune.

Car makers were sure that Covid was going to kill new car sales, so they began cutting supply orders early on.
Between mandated shutdowns, order reductions, and all of the other crippling effects of a pandemic, suppliers Lost production capabilities.

When people kept buying new cars a wave of "oh crap!" made its way through the industry, and they tried to ramp up production with reduced and inexperienced labor and raw materials shortages.

Remember the old saying, "You don't want a car made on Friday afternoon or Monday morning"?

We're at two plus years of Monday morning and counting.

There's a lot of compromised quality still in the pipeline.

OK, that makes since now

All my apologies ........reading my post from yesterday, it sounded a little bit on the douche side, which was not my intent

If you think that stuff is bad then don’t look at your passenger side rear axle…
