So a dealership here is wanting my 2021 overland, fully loaded with everything except the adaptive cruise control. 14k miles.

They have a 2020 Mojave with 25k miles with less features.

i swapped mojave springs and rubi shocks on my overland and it sits and rides awesome.
have 35s on mine currently, cant swap em over cause 18s vs 17s on mojave

gaining
4.10 gears
wider axles
iron knuckles
"strengthened frame"
seats and steering wheel i was planning a swap
hood and flares i was planning a swap

losing
leather seats
cold weather package
hard top liner
blind spot monitoring and parking sensors and LED tail lights.

they claim they can get the payments within $25 of what im currently paying.

I am strongly considering this trade. Apart from driving it and looking more thoroughly at it, what would be some reasons not to?

Apart from the original steering boxes that needed to be replaced and the wide axels having leaks, are there other issues with the 2020s that I am not thinking of right now?

Biggest thing, is you already have a year or two in payments, that are going to get reset.
I would not trade for a used in this market… you can get better deals on a new one than used.
How intimate is your current build? Is it treated like a family member? Lots of thought, blood sweat and tears involved in it?

Definitely not. I’d never trade a newer vehicle with less miles for an older one with more. You’ll be upside down very quickly. I agree with the post above. Better deals are to be had with new vehicles. Run away.

Assume you purchased your Overland new, IMO that is worth something as you know how it has been treated since new, that and the better options, and year newer I would keep what you have.

The other thing to consider is that 2020 seems to be the year with most issues and you have no idea what the old owner did with it before it hit the lot. He may have been mudding it up every weekend or bouncing it on rocks, these trucks ask to be abused and that alone means i'll never pickup a used gladiator or wrangler unless i plan on ripping it apart for a build.

Yup. Just about every used Jeep for sale out there is someone’s aborted project vehicle.

Not saying “don’t buy used,” but that I’d want to look any used Jeep over thoroughly.

Don't downgrade into older model year despite even if it's mojave...

Not worth it at all!

I wouldn’t ever purchase based on a payment either. If it’s 25.00 a month the difference for 60 months you saved is 1500.00. 100% not worth it to go backwards in age.

Hard NO to the trade. You’d be foolish. All the advice others gave I completely concur with. Make your Overland yours. You’ve got lots of great features on your Overland. You want different gears, install 4.88 gears. Don’t succumb to the Mojave Kool Aid.

Ask straight up what is the trade in “value in dollars” they are willing to offer. Then see what they can do for a brand new or ordered gladiator. ?

Then compare the numbers and make a decision.

What they are offering right now does not benefit you…
