From what I know, the switched circuits all act the same way, so if one switched circuit that you've done the fuse tap on isn't turning off, then others aren't either. This could bleed over into the radio, hence why it will start playing music with the truck off.

I would remove any of the fuse taps from the fuse box and get it back to factory setup. I would then make sure I could replicate the problem any time I wanted, and then show that problem to the dealership so they can hunt down the source. It sounds like there's something at the root of this beyond the radio/USB connections.
Thanks for the info I appreciate it.

For some reason on my gladiator, F11 powers the USB ports.
It's a 2022 RHD Night Eagle in Australia.

6 months later this is still one of the biggest return for low cost mods.

On closer inspection, looks like what I linked is a Mini ATM fuse connectors - not Micro2 as required. Also it would not pass the power on the USB end since you'd have an open fuse on that side.

Still looking for another option since that micro2 "ECU Repair" wire you linked is no longer available.

Alright after some more digging and edification on my part. I think I've come up with a way to do this with two fuse taps. Here's a wiring diagram of how I think it should work.

Having two 15A fuses in series shouldn't effect the fuse capacity.

this is interesting... I could have sworn that USB in the center console was only 'on' when the truck was ACC or RUN mode.... so to clarify you're saying it is always powered?? What about the USB/USB-C on the dash, or the two behind the center console for rear passengers?

I have left things plugged into those before and they always turned off charging once the truck was off and locked. Maybe I'm missing something but if left plugged in you're suggesting that over weekend device, such as a phone or in-reach could drain the starting battery? That seems like a pretty terrible design.

Motorola MA1 AA adapter. Applies to Android only right? Why is it needed and what does it add as a benefit over the functionality supplied be the factory??

The USB in the Center Console is switched on and off with the ignition. However, if there is an active device connected (like a phone charging) the computer will leave the port powered up for a while (about an hour) after the truck is turned off.

There are some that are using wireless Android Auto connection devices. They are looking for ways to turn off the port immediately when the truck is turned off to break the connection between the wireless AA device and the phone.

Yes, this should work just fine. You just need to ensure the fuse is in the right place and oriented properly to avoid potential backfeeding of circuits.

I did some bench testing last year in an attempt to cut power to the wireless apple carplay with ignition off, but it didn't worked. Even with the carplay unit off, the uconnect constantly looking for data through the data wire/pins for up to an hour. Restoring power to the carplay unit during this time, won't automatic reconnect. I had to goes into Bluetooth setting on the phone to re-select the carplay unit to reconnect again.

If all you want is to cut power to the AA with ignition off than it can be done without using fuse taps. Just needs to modifies 2 usb cables. Get the power source from the switched rear usb port and spliced/soldered into the AA usb cable.

This mod does exactly that, but without any cutting or splitting of factory wires. I looked at doing that first and saw this was an easier alternative that can also be easily reverted back.

I’m sorry you had issues with this mod not working for you. How are you connecting this in the fuse box?
