So I talked to Sales Manager, he met with the GM, GM wants to talk to Sales and Parts managers before committing to anything. I did mention I want it reversed and it sounded like he was leaning that direction but nothing verbal. I mentioned the Rubicon if it tows 7000, and he seemed to brighten a little bit and said customer comes first so ... fingers crossed and he will call me 30 seconds after GM decides. No time given on that call.

I also told him I have 105 minutes of calls to and from his dealership between the date of the sale and when I picked up the vehicle after getting the tow hitch and level lift. I told him I could have been told at any time that the vehicle could not be max tow.

Sometimes a politely worded letter from an attorney can persuade someone to do the right thing.
That is, if the dealership doesn't want to make things right for you. I'd give them the chance to come to the correct conclusion on their own first.

Something to look into, and others here can probably give an answer regarding the tow rating of the Rubicon, I don't know if any Rubicon has the 7,000 lb tow rating, or if it needs to be equipped from the factory.

Sales and Parts managers can't magically make it a Max Tow. Reject anything they offer to "do" to the current Gladiator you have.

All 3.6L auto Rubicons are rated 7k. With or without Tow Package. For some reason the Tow Package doesn't increase their rating.

If I didn't love it so much I would give it back! I won't bore you with the delays they've provided.

It would only be in case of fire and my 1996 F250 not starting. But because it's so old I want to have a back up plan.
Yeah, glad you love the sport. I’ve got a Max Tow sport and very happy. The keyed door locks and crank up windows are normal for this old Coger. Happy Trails!

I suppose because they are already designed for and rated for abuse?

If the window sticker doesn't have Max-Tow on it it not. The next option is standard towing package. This is a window sticker of a Max-Tow equipped Gladiator.

I can see in this thread it's been beat to death already. As a owner of a Max-Tow I don't want to think of the flogging a standard JT would go through towing more than a lightweight trailer and load. The Max-Tow is listed in right side $1095.00 additional cost requires automatic transmission $2000.00.
Of the security from theft, you can go way into the weeds for that, but if someone plans on stealing it.... well they are going to.
The dealership I got mine from didn't have one on the lot but dang sure beat to bush for one with everything I wanted. Then got it to their lot in less than 3 days. That's the window sticker from mine.

If they can get you out of the Sport and in the Rubicon for reasonable money, I think you will be happy. I’m sure they don’t want the stink you can raise if they don’t. Telling him you are interested in the Rubicon shows you are willing to work with them and gives the dealership the opportunity to come out of this without looking too bad. A happy customer is much preferred over dealing with the fallout from obviously taking advantage of someone. You are giving them every opportunity to do the right thing here. Just don’t let anything they do or say sway your judgement about upgrading to the Rubicon. If they can’t get the price difference right for you, stick to your guns about just reversing the deal.

Plus this would be a live animal, which means movement. He's perfect in the trailer, but I think (after learning quite a bit in this thread!) even taking a step or leaning could affect this JT's stability as it sits. Thank you.

I will. Channeling my inner mean girl. Receptionist said I was being so nice about this, I said well, you can't hear my inside voice...

The more I learn here, the more this Sport just will not work for me unfortunately.
