Better upgrade those axle shafts while you are at it.
RCV with FAD delete for the front. Haven't decided on rear yet. May do 35 spline since I'm buying the rear locker as well.

I tow a 19’ 3,500 pound travel trailer with a 2020 JT Overland with tow package. Three years so far View attachment 325312 with 7,500 miles towing, no issues. Add too much weight, or mechanical problems, it just may overheat. In the real world, my Overland has performed well doing what it was designed to do within its design limits.

Sounds like you either misunderstood what your build spec is or were over sold ... under geared and under cooled. I can flog the crap out of my JT with the actual Max Tow package at HWY speeds and over mountain passes pulling 3000 lbs and with gear in the bed ... never a single cooling issue.

I don’t use my gladiator as a tow rig due to me having a diesel pickup. I have done a lot of towing all over America. I will say my biggest concern with the gladiator is some of the trans temps mine runs without a trailer going up 6-8 degree inclines. I plan to add an upgraded trans cooler. OP- Taller tires than stock require taller gears to keep lower rpm. It’s counter intuitive because taller gears with the same size tires raise the rpm. Taller gears with the same size tires give you higher rpm. If you are towing and don’t want to spend a fortune I would fine a set of nice 32s or whatever comes factory on your model and bring your rpm down . I do think these trucks run high temps on the transmission’s under moderate to heavy use.

Update. Did the 4.88 gears. Went with spicer because i heard yukon was having issues with the gears for these things. Really washed my radiator out and got a lot of fine dirt out of it. Tows great. Fuel mpg went up a hair. Nothing drastic. Truck drives the way it should now. Overheating propblen is all but gone. I did see a slight temp spike last time i was towing my sxs up a steep grade but nowhere near overheating. I also purchased a set of the poison spyder hood louvers for heat dissipation on the trails. Thanks for all the advice.

What do you mean by slight temp spike?
Too many people see temps like 220 or 225 and freak out thinking "too hot!!" and it's not even close to too hot.

Curious the cost for the gear upgrade?

This is my first Jeep, with no plans for a trailer. But I did the 2” Mopar lift with 35’s.

But want to start with some mild “wheeling” at Camp Gruber and Disney.

We used to ride quads at Gruber a lot 10yrs ago!

It was around $2200 ish. Gruber is still there. My hunting and fishing camp is a little south of webber's fall's so I am always out that way. Give me a shout if you want to meet up and do some wheeling. I can put you in contact with the shop that did my gears. They are in Edmond and do great work. Thanks for that info. I’ll have to put the gears on my wish list. Have to see how things go with just regular driving and some mild wheeling on the stock gears with 35’s.
I am just south of Tulsa. Just a 50min drive to Gruber. Looks like the Gomer Pyle trail around the perimeter of Gruber is the longest and mildest trail and also gives that view over the river.

My 2020 Gladiator is having issues while towing. Its the overland package and it has the maxx tow package on it with 3:73 gears. Auto trans. I tow a 14' travel trailer or a sxs on a single axle trailer. The truck does fine on flat ground but when I get into the hills, It really struggles to maintain hwy speeds and overheats while going up hill. The temp immediately drops back to normal temps as soon as I clear the top of the hill. I am looking at regearing the truck pretty quickly because of this. I am going to go with the 4:88's. That is what Yukon Gear is telling me will be the best gear for me. Has anyone experienced the overheating issues? And does anyone have 4:88's that can give me some feedback on the performance of them.
It's a safety feature on a JT. Once the transmission fluid, coolant or oil reach certain temps, the Jeep kind of takes over to remedy the problem. It won't let you shift gears, gas pedal is useless and the Jeep slows down to 40 to 50 MPH on a HWY. I tow a ~4,000 pound trailer across pretty steep hills in AZ and ran into this problem frequently even with a 5.13 gear ratio. I do have 37 inch tires. I never had issues with oil temps but transmission was overheating constantly. I solved the transmission overheating problem by installing Mishimoto transmission cooler and PPE alluminum heavy duty transmission fluid pan and replacing the transmission fluid. After 40,000 miles it was insanely dirty!
