My 2016 JK stayed in the weather all six years I had it (gulf south area). I maintained the paint and plastic properly so it didn't seem any worse off when I sold it.

My 2022 Gladiator has been outside in the weather full time since I got it. It's also been through two hail storms now so the hood has some dents but the rest of the truck is totally fine. Thank goodness for a non metal roof, vertical body sides, and plastic fenders.

I only have enough room for one vehicle to be under my carport - my SS Camaro stays there, and its not really the worry about sun, heat, or rain so much as the occasional hail storm which would destroy my car as opposed to just some hood dents in my truck.

My only concern with parking outside, get a faraday box for your keys.

Also, invest in a good wax job three times a year and the clear coat should last longer than the norm.

Happy Jeeping!

Good call with the faraday bag! I'll also add that a kill switch would be a good investment to do as well. My uncle's Ram 2500 in Boulder was stolen out of his driveway and they were able to replicate his key fob! Absolutely insane your truck isn't even safe in y our own driveway!

I have literally never parked a vehicle in a garage. I've always used a garage for storage, shop, gym. We have a 24x37 garage now and it will never see a vehicle.

This incredibly awesome stuff for the paint.....Best and longest lasting wax I have ever used.

And this for the rubber and plastic that is exposed to the sun.....Of course, this one can be used for the whole thing....paint, plastic, rubber, decals. I would do it every 3 to 4 months. Easy.

My Gladiator was kept outside with its previous owner. It had a sun bleached plastic windshield wiper cowling piece. It was replaced under warranty.

And this for the interior......It has a great smell, too, and is long lasting.

I also highly recommend a windshield sun shield.

Same... We don't have a garage currently and I've never parked a jeep inside of one when we did. My jeeps have always been too tall to fit inside anyways. I've never had issues with paint (minus a front TJ fender...they are known for that) or fading. In the summer, we often travel to the beach and it always receives a bath on the ride back.

My Gladiator sits in the driveway all week while I drive my commuter beater to work.
The sun out here where I live is brutal so I cover it and plug in the battery maintainer until the weekend comes and then I uncover it and drive it on the weekend.

Colorado sun is brutal, so a cover would help.

Don't think it will do much regarding the hail we seem to get every summer. :(

All I have to add is that my ‘94 GMC Suburban has great paint, always been garaged. Never been stolen or vandalized. Oddly enough, when I looked at the forum the subject right above yours was somebody had sugar put into their gas tank. Hasn’t happened to me. And when the tire slashers go through the neighborhood the Burb never touched.

My 2020 has set outside since day 1. We do have a two car garage, but the 06 Mustang GT convertible and the HD get the garage. My JT and her TJ set outside. Waxing twice a year and the paint looks the same as new. My wife's 05 TJ still looks good paint is not faded , pinstripes don't count.

My 2021 has been parked outside (off street) since new, with an Alu-cab Canopy Camper on it. I feel your pain about not fitting into a standard garage. I try to keep it clean and walk around it regularly to make sure no harm has come to it. So far so good.

My Gladiator was designed and built in a building. Why would I think it should be parked outside,,,LOL. Jeeps are not designed to be outside that's why so many have roof leaks and rust. Again LOL.

For you Floridians and Midwesterners, his key to all of this is the word DENVER.
The air filters out the sun - up there, less filter. You can spend all day in the sun in many states and get a tan, about 3 or 4 hours in the sun in the mountains is a different animal.
My SX4 came from high elevations - nice, no rust, but there also wasn't a single surviving piece of plastic, rubber or vinyl in or on the car. Anything not steel rotted badly or was made so crispy touching it resulted in piles of debris on the ground.
Elevations kill rubber. Even here I've seen tires last a fraction of how long they would normally by parking outside. Good example was when I parked vehicles and trailers by my shop or under the lean-to. One side always exposed to light, and for hours, direct sunlight. Oddly, those tires weathered and cracked while the other side tires looked fine.

The other thing already mentioned was the critters - man, my car had a totally destroyed interior - critters had eaten the carpet on the right side (although part was due to SUN ROT), and it was packed with needles from trees.

I can walk along the beach for hours in Florida and not get a bad burn - in Colorado Springs a couple of years ago, I was hurting after spending all day outside at a car show/swap meet.

I've seen the differences in classic cars - buy them from some states and the iron is rotted but all plastic is fine, from other states - excellent iron/steel parts but the rubber and plastic is toast.

I like to buy parts from Alaska - especially if plastic trim or other parts - they are always like brand new.
