Yeah I went with Gibson as well. I just don't see the need for all the other solutions when I never need to look or access the phone. Android Auto gives me what I need on the Uconnect display.
Seems like a nice solution, but too small for a galaxy note 20 ultra.

Yep, I was gonna get the Gibson phone holster but its too small for my S20 Ultra w/case.

I sent an email a few weeks ago asking if they can be made wider but have not gotten a response.

I don't need the other mount options since I do not need to look at my phone. Just need it secure and out of the way and plugged into USB for Android Auto. For now it rests next to ebrake handle.

On his site it looks like he makes custom gun holsters so I imagine it would be possible to make a custom phone holster. I know he is on the forum here somewhere. He was pretty responsive to my order and I'm happy with the fit/finish/solution. Hopefully you are able to work something out.

EDIT: here's his thread https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/gibson-leatherworks-jt-leather-items.23245/

Great video, this helped me so much as I’ve never owned a phone mount and will be using one in the Gladiator. Do you know what companies, if any, also offer mounts for iPads. This will be a work truck for me and would be a benefit if I could mount the iPad as well.

Edit: reached out to 67 Designs after posting this and received a quick email response showing all the pieces needed.
I use this one, the little 'foot' is mounted under the passengers left front seat bolt. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00585CLSQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I went with the Gibson holster solution. I then loaded it with a wireless fast charger that is wired directly to the switched 12V circuit behind the 12V port. It charges quickly and I can plug in Android Auto for nav with no discharge issues from the low output USB ports.

What wireless charger did you use?

I did a lot of shopping around and found what I wanted and saved it to an Amazon list.

Aimee (Wifey) surprised me with it last night! Wahoo, I was gonna wait till after the silly season.

So the original dash set up has a narrow pocket that will hold your sunglasses long enough to get the window rolled down and entering a corner, at which point they come flying out the pocket and go right out the window!

The bottom of this area is molded rubber that just pulls straight out and has 2 phillips screws to hold the dash together.

You start by removing the rubber base and gaining access to the 2 screws and removing them.

The new frame and holder has a single m4 socket head cap screw and matching nut. These combine to attach the cell phone holder to the new pocket frame. The original screws are used to secure the new pocket frame to the dash. The cell holder has a ball socket to mount the cell phone holder and it uses dual spring retention clamps that are very firm. I have no doubt they will work on very rough terrain. The added bonus is the pocket is now twice as deep so the glasses will stay put during the normal commute with out slinging the glasses out the window when I think I am playing GTA 5...... cause I never do that....yeah...

Installed one of these yesterday, the mount slides behind the passenger pull bar. Not adjustable on any axis, so I don't know if I'll keep it or not. Very solid, and doubles as a cup holder.

For JT's without the sway bar or aux buttons there is a little pocket in that space. However it is not deep enough or tilted enough to keep a phone in place while driving. My phone is a Samsung S20 FE with a case so it is pretty big and it fell out of that pocket constantly. I need the phone to be plugged in for Android Auto.

So here is what I did:

I took the stock rubber mat in that pocket and cut the back end off to make the phone lay flatter.
Then I took the remaining piece and stuck it to the front of the pocket using Gorilla Glue double sided tape.

Finally found a solution that works for me. I really didn't want anything the was too far above the dashboard line and I tried to minimize any blockage for the windshield view.

I first tried the OffRoad Aesthetics solution which attaches behind the left side of the passenger grab bar. The weight of my Galaxy Note 20 with Otterbox case made it shake like a bobble head, so that had to go back.

I then found some components from Proclip. The first piece is the Jeep Center Dash Mount. It doesn't come with a holder, just a mount that easily clips from the edge of your dashboard to a slot by the windshield.

Nice thing about the mount is that you have a lot of flexibility (right/left) on how you position it.

Instead of the separately holder available above, I ordered Vertical Extension Plate from Proclip. It allows you to vertically lower how the final mount and phone position ends up.

https://www.proclipusa.com/product/vertical-extension-plate?sSearch=213065

I then picked up a Scosche MagicMount Pro from Best Buy. Which will actually magnetically hold the phone.

Final solution looks like this:

With this I was able to minimize the windshield view blockage, not block the radio, and not block the vent. The vertical plate screwed on to the mount, but I added a little glue too. The phone is heavy, but doesn't budge or bobble while moving.

The mount was $29.95 and the vertical plate was $10.95, but both were an additional 20% off from Proclip during black friday. The Scosche mount from Best Buy was $19.95 during a recent sale.

Got this same one and only installed the bracket the added a ball mount and reused and old suction mount. Works perfect.
