how about a little jeep camaraderie rather than troll a member who is looking to raise awareness on an issue with a jeep platform coming to the gladiators. If you truly have a rules issue with how or where he put this thread contact an admin
Except there is a private means of reaching out directly to @JeepCares and there’s also a whole sub section for vehicles that aren’t Gladiators and you didn’t use either. ?‍♂

Thanks, and the other reason it’s public is for more exposure. I’d like @JeepCares to notice. As soon as they chime in, this can go into a private thread. I for one was excited about a possible trade in a couple years when it may get added as a JT drivetrain. Now, they’d need to rework it so that it functions in places below 70 degrees.

Btw, at some point someone asked if we’d driven it around for an hour, to see if electric would start working. We drove it 80+ miles at highway speeds (75ish)on Saturday to take it to the dealer. Even after exiting the highway, decreasing speeds for in town roads, electric was still unavailable. If 75mph for an hour and a half doesn’t warm the oil enough to use the electric drivetrain, there Is a real and serious issue with this system. @JeepCares?

Yea at 24mpg I’d think she is not getting much out of electric. Charged every night and it’s dead at the end of her 40 mile commute. That’s in highbred mode
Idk about full electric though. I’ll look into it and report back and yes It should be clearly stated it won’t work in the cold if that’s the case….
I assume because of the cold she's running out of electric for hybrid sooner than normal. It's well documented that the 4xe is by far the worst for MPG as an ICE driven vehicle than any other JL trim. I'm assuming the cold is sapping the battery and your mileage is taking a dive because of it. I saw somewhere that did some minor guess work calculations that showed if you went past like 30 summod miles you were going to start to lose out to the turbo 4 JL. What was her mileage before this?

It doesn’t use electric at all. Meaning gas only. Fully charged, 15-25 miles per day of driving, and it comes home with a full charge. In hybrid mode, which is the only option as electric is unavailable, you can watch the power draw. It uses all power from ICE, and almost none to absolutely none from the batteries.

I do not think JeepCares is going to be the problem solver on this. They tend to not get out of their swim lane of regurgitating whatever the OM says or canned responses of working with your dealership on the issue.

Dude. Please read the entire thread. We pre start it plugged in, so the cabin is 70+ degrees before we unplug and drive away. Fuel and gas refresh is 100% of the time, even after 80 miles of driving with ICE at 75mph. You’ll also notice earlier in the thread that I’ve read the manual cover to cover, and your highlights aren’t applicable.

Thats 3 reasons why it would run the engine. Did you ask the dealer to change the oil? sounds like a sensor could be bad. Just trying to help figure out a 4xE issue on a Gladiator forum so calm down. You posted on a public site if you don't want help then you should have direct message jeep cares instead.

I was pretty clear that I’m all ears if someone has a suggestion that hasn’t been addressed. The three reasons in the manual are not what’s happening to our vehicle. I was clear on the conditions in the thread. Thanks.

Have you run the gas tank to nearly empty? None of the previous "conditions" you've mentioned your Jeep was in would have cleared this case.

From page 37 of the 4xe Supplement:

If the vehicle enters Fuel and Oil Refresh Mode, due to fuel which has been in the fuel tank for a long period of time (becoming stale fuel), the engine will run whenever the vehicle is operational (no electric only operation) until the low fuel level warning is activated. It is also possible to exit the Fuel and Oil Refresh Mode sooner by adding a minimum of four gallons of new fuel to the vehicle’s fuel tank.

From page 37 of the 4xe Supplement:
Yes and yes. Tried letting it get low, then topped it off with far more than 4 gallons, as it takes 17.5. and was down to a 1/4.

Jeep customer service, both on the helpline and the dealership level has been very lacking in the last year or so in my experience, I've been trying to talk to them about my diesel suspension bottoming out, the forum here is littered with complaints on the issue. Every time I talk to jeep cares, the 'notes' have never matched the previous conversation we have. Takes them on average a month to return my calls, the last conversation I requested to talk to a supervisor and was assured id be contacted in a day or two. Now going on two weeks.
The dealership has been similar, they identified the issue but no fix is available. I've left them messages every week since a star case number has been available to talk to someone, but I just get the service close-out surveys after a couple of days of not hearing from someone.

On the positive side, at least I could remedy this issue myself by lifting the truck.
I really wish you the best in getting your issues addressed.
