These are nice when they work. I've owned 2 sets, gladiator and wrangler. They break down at least once a year and rockslide no longer stands behind them. I would definitely avoid these at this point! They are not reliable.

I couldn’t disagree more. They’ve done nothing but go above and beyond for me. And mine won’t fail after 3.5 years and 73k miles of heavy wheeling.

Mine have also been trouble free. I think the quality is very good on these steps, super quiet and smooth operation. Would get them over any other steps on the market currently.

I have had some trouble but RSE has helped for sure. I was sent the old motherboard i think is hwta they called it in both sides. Passenger side failed within a week. Called and talked to them and they shipped out two new boards for me. Replaced the pass but left the og in the driver until it breaks. No easy way to replace these without removing the heavy step from the mounts. Mine still make an awful noise when closing back up. I put some lubricant on there but it did not help much. I usually just leave them turned off bc I can get in easy enough... these were a "make my wife's life easier" buy.

I love my Sliders. Wish I had bought the armor for them but they have held up well.

We've had ours on since March 2023, so over 2 years now. JLU and my JT.
Had an issue with a part before finishing installation. i swapped the motor from my JT set to the JLU set and got them working and RSE sent me new parts.
I do the lube thing like the instructions state - try to clean things out now and then and then liberal with the silicone spray, and they work flawlessly. Like my wife says - we'll never own a Wrangler or Gladiator without them.

It would be helpful to know exactly what "broke down" with yours, what stopped working or didn't work correctly, that sort of thing.

Five years with mine and they are great! I have a tight garage and a two door car, so I added a rubber bumper to the side of the steps to prevent damage to the car, then drilled out the rockslide logos, had them powdercoated red and added them back.

They can be easily tightened up not to do that. RS has some real good videos that walk through the process
For the slight "clank" on the right one on my ex-Overland, they sent me a packet of rubber bumper things you put onto the dividers inside so the step didn't smack it when coming up.

But after a while, it was less noticeable - maybe because after killing power to them a couple of times to work on things they learned a different range of motion. After a few months, it was quiet enough I didn't bother with those pads that slip onto the internal dividers

My passenger side makes some noise, but it’s been smacked upside the head 50 times, so I cut it some slack.

What’s the install like, how does it hold up to things like jack stands and floor jacks?
Pretty good. Work well with my jackstands and feel pretty good on my feet when heading to the garage for a beer. There are a variety of tile, styles that probably support more weight. I selected these because liquids can flow under them. Notice the hot water heater,… When the last one failed it flooded the floor and all the water ran out under the tiles. I dropped something that melted a tile. Ordered a new one four $4, and got it in a week. Snapped out the old and in with the new in 5 minutes.
The side stand on the Bike was wobbly on them, so I ordered the Aluminum tile. Overall after 8 years, really good, better than Epoxy.
