I take mine in tomorrow to have it looked at. Not looking forward to it.
My two hour trip was worth it for this amazing dealership. Leak specialist told me that it's a widespread problem. He stated they basically all leak either new or later on like mine. However of the ones they have had fixed none of them have come back with leaks so far. The glass company they use has a special tool to remove the back window without damaging the hard top. Now if the window would just arrive

Yep about a year before it started for me as well, then progressively got worse. I just really hope it never leaks after the fix. My rear Prp seat covers aren't going on until they do the repair.

I can confirm my replacement glass is not leaking and my hardtop was not damaged but there was a lot of broken glass from the window they took out…

Hello guys,
Had my rear window replaced at the beginning of the month under warranty after waiting since September 2020. Whole window was replaced and so far it is good.

Waiting on the window. They say it will come in soon. I used the same tube weather stripping that people use to keep rocks out of the fenders today. My leak has steadily become worse I believe the seal is pulling away from the window. This should redirect the water for now. Tempted to put it back in once they replace the window. Sadly I'll have to replace kilroy.

mine leaked within 2 months and i did the same thing as the glass was 3 months out..4 months later the glass is in but they want me to drop it off at the dealer then have the lot monkey drive it 12 miles to the glass shop for install. I asked if they would just perform the fix at my house since the glass co has a mobile truck...nope it has to be dropped off at the dealer..then I asked If I could just take it there and wait and again NOPE. Over the years I have had very poor luck with dealers when my vehicle has been"dropped off" many incidents from red light camera tickets, hit while parked at the dealer over night, going out to lunch seeing a lot monkey hauling ass thru the mall parking lot in MY VEHICLE (yes I got him fired :) to a vehicle totaled while out on a "test drive" which not sure why a "test drive to SONIC" would be needed in MY car when it was only in for a mirror and oil change- that last one was someone else's fault but STILL. I rather pay Safelight to come out and fix it then let ANYONE at a dealer drive my vehicle more than 100 yards...

I'm in this leaky rear roof/window club, also. I actually noticed it about a year ago. Bought my truck in Aug '19. Noticed the leak around August '20. Not as extreme a leak as some people have had, so waited until the truck was already going in for other reasons. Asked dealer to look at it in Fall '20. Dealer's response was "we are not seeing sign of a leak, get a picture and show us" "we are not aware of any problem of this sort on Gladiators".

Life has been overfull for months with nuttiness at work and a family health situation, so am just getting back to this now (partly because I want to install some audio equipment in the back and I don't want _any_ water back there).

Got the photo recently after a day of steady rain.

I am going to reach out to Jeep Cares in hopes that Jeep Cares can help advocate so that I can get in to the dealer in a way that the right course of action will be in motion from the point at which I take it to the dealer for this.

I can tolerate, if needed, some delay to get the part, or some delay to schedule the work once the part is in. What I am in no mood to tolerate is deflecting that it is a real problem, or needing to go into the shop multiple times before the solution even commences in motion, nor a bunch of shoddy half-fixes.

So I haven’t read through all 31 pages of this. Just here to ask if it’s known whether they will all eventually do it. Or if it’s just a percentage. Lucky for me I live in NM where it doesn’t rain very often but the flip side is that when it does, it’s usually torrential. This has been a very wet year but mine hasn’t leaked, knock on wood…

I took mine in week before last to have it looked at. I don't think they even touched it. They never called. I called them about twenty minutes before they closed. The phone conversation didn't go well at all so, I won't be going back there. That's two of three stealerships in the area I won't be going to again. Took it to the third in the area and all went pretty good. They just have to get it approved by stilantis or whoever it is. This dealership is a distributer for others in the area so they have the glass instock. Just waiting on approval and the company that does the glass work.

I don't think they all do it, because, despite the length of this thread, it would be much longer if everyone on here were a part of this discussion, and if the problem were that universal, it'd be getting addressed on a higher/wider level. Suggest keeping an eye on yours and/or even have someone wash the exterior down with a gardenhose (not deliberately blasting at the window, just showering water on the roof) while you watch from the interior..

Ordered a roll online of 3m "88 Super" 1.5 inch wide electric tape to put between the hardtop and the glass on mine, pending some kind of resolution. A very temporary and kind of "ghetto" fix but I only want it as a way of stopping water entry pending getting to the bottom of the issue, and doing so in a way that leaves no trace once a real resolution can be carried out.

So, we recently got a Subaru Outback Wilderness edition for my wife and have been driving that a lot (two weeks). I just got back in my truck today to drive it some and noticed a horrible rancid smell. Low and behold, we have been getting a lot of rain recently and bingo, I noticed my window had been leaking. Crap. This will be fun with dealer. We go off roading frequently and I hadn’t cleaned the dust off from my previous excursion and I could see clearly where the what had been coming in and settling.

Dealership leak specialist told me he believes at some point they will all leak from the factory. Still waiting on my window. That small round weather striping people use for the fender flares fits and will stop leaking btw

Went to dealer, but the new glass had a chip in it. When they went to order another piece of glass, we found out that there is a new part number - an improved window. They expect it on 9 Jul. I'll see if I can get the part number to add to this thread once it comes in and I get to see it.
Update - glass ordered in June received in July ended up being a back glass for a Ram pickup. So, they tried again. The third attempt at glass arrived in late August. Got the new glass installed this week.

The dealer had the glass company come to my house, so I could watch what happened. The old glass was very difficult to remove. Mopar uses a seal channel that is glued (urethane) onto the glass. That seal channel gets urethane when installing it. If you look at the picture of the full window below, you'll see that the channel makes it very difficult for the glass folks to run their knifes through to cut the seal when removing. The bottom is especially difficult as it is extremely far from the edge of the glass. Also, the window slide frame makes accessing the seal almost impossible from the inside.

The gentleman who worked on my truck ended up breaking a knife which damaged the paint (see pic). So, after the glass was removed, I took the gladiator to a body shop where the top was repaired and the rear section repainted before the new glass was installed. This made the ordeal a 2 day affair.

The old window was leaking in the center of the very top. I attempted to take a pic (see below). When Mopar attached the seal channel they used urethane. But at the top center, they failed to use enough and it created a void between the glass and seal channel. You can see in the pic that the urethane was dirty and dry looking - it did not adhere on both sides. The new glass (which reportedly was a new part number) had a thicker, more substantial bead of urethane. I am confident the leak has been fixed.

Note - first 3 pics are of the new (possibly new part number) rear glass
