I am apparently more anal than normal and must have a higher level of respect and care for someone else's hard earned property that normal it seems. The glass guys that did the windshild must have had something on thier boots and ground my powder coating down. They is why I put the note on there......
I have learned from past dealership or repair shop experience that nobody cares for ones own vehicles like you do. While most times things get done without event, it does factor sometimes into my thinking if a minor warranty repair or service is worth the dealership visit or just pay out of my pocket and do it myself.

They got it out quick this morning!

No major damage to report.........The bed of the truck and the rear seat area in the cab was full of tiny white flowers that I assume came from them working under a tree? Only one square of glass found, but lots of fine broken class dust on the rear wall and bluetooth speaker. it appears one of the tabs holding the right side trim piece was broken off because it's loose now. Quite a few black finger smudges on the clean white top that weren't there in my video last night. The installer apparently didn't read or comprehend English since one of my sliders had the tape torn, crushed flowers, and a circular set of scratches in my powdercoat.

They could have been cleaner and done a more complete professional job overall, but it was better than I expected. I just hope it doesn't leak again...... The trim part I'll just buy myself and swap it after waiting to see if the other parts rattle because they are now loose in the holes.......

So I decided to try the permatex flowable silicone... we've had a few storms since, so far, dry as can be....

But... while cleaning my interior out, I noticed what I thought were dirt streaks below the sliding rear window! Found they were cracks!

My thoughts are that water got in there and froze over the winter (south central Pa.) Causing it to crack at some point. Related to the leak at the top, maybe, if it ran down and laid in there...

Those are the same cracks I have on mine along the interior trim/drain channel at the top of the window

Well after 2.5 years my rear window is now leaking. One thing that got me thinking was a few months back my truck finally got to experience the below zero temps, then right after it starts leaking. Probably just a coincidence. Do we know for sure what is causing this? It almost seems like this is 100% going to happen on all Gladiators?

I think I'm going to try the vacuum hose trick first. I really don't want the paint damaged.....

Just be sure to get silicone hose the rubber doesn’t hold up well in the hot sun and car washing

Having worked in a shop that serviced IHP vehicles, where one of the troopers kept white gloves in the glove box (not kidding) and before he got in the vehicle after we were done, he put on those gloves and ran his hands over door handles, steering wheel, windshield, etc. and they'd better come back white.......
Oh no ... The white glove treatment !!! Thats how my Vietnam Veteran Father would confirm my chores of house cleaning were done correctly .. Wow, I have not thought of that in many years .. I am having flashbacks thanks to this post! :CWL:

Getting my rear glass replaced under warranty due to the leak, parts not available until mid August.
Sorry to hear that .. I am surprised about mid August eta .. They replaced mine yesterday … 3 days after diagnostic .. FYI like others told me take pics/video prior to them installing in case of damage and prepare to clean up some left over glass behind the rear seats ….

Thanks I’ve taken pictures of the leaks, I’ll be sure to take some before and after the install as well.

More prep tonight......Both times my truck has been in possession of another shop for service, someone has used my Rockslides for a step and scratched the power coating.

I just don't understand how someone can not care about damaging someone else's property? I'd whip my employee with a big extension cord if they pulled this shit

Not gonna lie, if I could afford those steps I'd buy them specifically so I could step exactly in that spot - that would be super handy.

If I ever have them off the truck again, maybe I will Raptor line them......

I had an appointment with my local GlassDr this morning and he was pretty honest with me about the issue. He took me into the bay and showed me the factory glass and why it will always fail. They also offer an aftermarket glass that looks identical and retains the defrost ability but removes the plastic channels for the silicone that cause the issue. With the knowledge that I have to replace the glass regardless now I'm researching the Breezer window, but if I go with their option it's going to cost me around $700 plus tax. They warranty their work as well. The only bummer is this can't be done through the warranty since the superior part is aftermarket.

just had my replaced, took a month to get it in after diagnosis and dealer sent it out to a local glass shop. i talked to the owner of the glass shop, he said they do minimum of 2 JT's a week for rear glass leak. was also honest and told me to expect glass in the back of the truck.

I had that problem last Fall. It's the rear window seal.
I have the three piece hard top and noticed a water leak behind the back seat today. It’s coming in from above the sliding window. I know the freedom panels sometimes leak if not seated properly. But I have heard of anything in the back yet. Anyone having a leak back there?
