Agreed. It shouldn’t be that hard from a labor standpoint but I’m pretty sure that disconnect motor is close to 2k in parts alone.
Makes me wonder if you could reach out to a salvage yard and maybe snag a couple. The re sell them.

thanks for the insult. I am absolutely paying attention and on the contrary i think far too many others are pissing in the wind and not considering ALL options that affect payload including selected options even if its just the aux switches. It all affects payload. Maybe to you it doesnt matter. Maybe to half the world it doesnt. But to somebody else maybe 5 pounds absolutely matters. Thats all I am saying. Im not arguing any of the trims are better or worse than the others but for some people trying to maximize certain things. Which is why I was asking if the posted nymbers you offered, which i am sure many people including myself appreciate, are bone stock or with some options. It matters because if a truck is 10 pounds over weight and gets in an accident depending on who their insurance is and what state they live in they may be slammed with ALL costs including any damage to others. So. It matters.
I certainly didn't intend to insult you. I don't consider telling someone they are wrong to be an insult. Saying you are stupid or irrational, or something like that is an insult.

Either way all this talk of a truck weight limits being a hard stop like wall where if you are 10 lb overweight you lose indemnification strikes me as a little ridiculous.

So here it is. $50 to the charity of your choice if you can find a single instance of someone driving otherwise reasonably who was sued for being overweight by some nominal amount. Lets say 5%.

$100 to the charity of your choice if there was an actual judgement against the person.

But now back to the point I was actually making.

The HA has payload capacity comparable to other trims. So it is a REAL TRUCK. Its just not an off-road truck. Just like 95% of all the F150s, Rams, and GMs out there.

I like it. I’d try to get a spare, but might be accused of hoarding. :)

Hauling an d towing are a whole different set of requirements than going off road.

A truck can be a mall crawler and do a great job hauling and towing.

The F250 platinum comes immediately to mind. Low profile street tires, road tuned suspension. but it can haul as well as anything.

Stopped at the cat scales today. Full tank of gas and nothing else in the vehicle.

2,700 front
2440 rear

So with a 6250 GVW, that leaves 1,110 pounds of payload.

That sounds accurate. According to the door sticker, available payload is 1,099 pounds. So pretty darn close. Also, this is with me NOT in the vehicle, so vehicle only.

Anyone with a Rubi able to look at their door sticker and let us know what the individual axle ratings are?


For reference, my Rubi is equipped with the following:
hard top
front trail cam
soft tonneau
beadliner
8.4" nav
alpine sound system
all weather slush mats
hard top sound deadener
aux switches
cold weather group
LED lights
trailer tow

I guess those lockers and sway disco's are heavy. Would have been nice to have a higher payload for insurance reasons. But - I'm still happy with it instead of having to have waited 4 more months even though it's not exactly what I wanted. Looks like the canopy camper is not an option though that would be WAY over GVW all loaded up. It would be nice to see if someone with a comparable equipped Sport S Max Tow weighs theirs also. I bet its only a couple hundred pounds lighter due to the lockers and sway disco.

Hey just drive the damn things, if you want a rubi get one if you want a moab, buy it, a HA, ok. With 4/10 gears, 37’s, 3.5” lift, stock ruby wheels with 2” spacers, ARCUS front bumper with 12,500lb Smitty Built Synthetic lined winch… well my max tow does all I need it to do.

I am going with manual Off Road Only’s sway bar DC. Lockers are going to be ARB.

why, because I like good parts and I like building my Jeep my way. Nothing wrong with factory Rubicon stuff if you can’t wrench (for me, I had trouble with the Rubi lockers and the sway bar auto DC). I like the aftermarket better personally, and like manual options like the ease of use Off Road Only’s sway bar DCs offer.

to my surprise the 4/10’s and 37 BFG KO2s are fine with the 3.6L. I can drive 90+ mph if I wanted to… no need for that when I own a Coyote V8 manual 6 speed convertible GT mustang. ?

There is literally no state where being 10lbs over would matter because it would be nigh impossible to prove. As someone else said, I'd love to see a single instance of anyone being reasonably around payload getting any kind of ticket. Keep in mind that 100 pounds is only 1.5% over weight given the gwr of the trucks.

Yes. For a period of time the Max Tow didn't come with LSD.

as with all Jeeps… “they are like a box of chocolates… you never know what you are going to get”

mine is an early JT 2020 Max Tow purchased October 2019. Mine does have the limited slip… yes I know how to check for one. Plus it must have been built on a good work day, 70,000+ miles so far and no problems… now I probably just jinxed myself! ?
